President John welcomed Members, Visitors and Guests to the Meeting and asked Past President, Pamela to read the Invocation.
Three raffle prizes were won, resulting in €125 for our charity fund.
Peter W outlined our upcoming events. A Croquet Tournament will take place on 10 Oct from 1500hrs at the Villa Padierna Racquet and Tennis Club in Estepona. The entry fee is €30 for participants with an optional lunch at €25 per head.
An autumn car run, described as “Driving over Chestnuts”, will take place on 21st October from 1030 to 1700hrs. Waypoints will be Benojaen (the blue Smurf Village) to Molina del Santo. The cost will be €50-55 including lunch. Details to be confirmed.
Pamela has posted information on our Website defining the roles and responsibilities of each Team. She would appreciate it if the Team Leaders could check for accuracy.
John introduced our speaker Souad Charifi, President of RC Marbella Cosmopolitan. Trained as a pharmacist, Souad was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 23, and endured years of ineffective medical treatments. After being told that she would probably not reach her 40th birthday, she changed her focus from being sick to living life to the full. That was the first step in her healing journey.
In her search for natural remedies, Souad began using a combination of anti-oxidants and organic products. Their inherent benefits led her to found Biovardi, an organic pharmacy, specialising in cosmetics and supplements based on natural ingredients with a bias more preventive than healing. She offered our Members a free health check using a magnetic bio-resonance machine.
The Meeting concluded at 1604 hrs with our customary toast to Rotary the World, Universe and Multiverse over.
