Coming this month, Baltimore Homecoming will be hosting “The Change Makers Series,” a four part virtual mixer event. These virtual events are an opportunity to hear from and connect with the people, leaders, and doers behind the organizations leading change in Baltimore. 

The virtual salons will take place in a virtual environment (Kumospace) where attendees can move about the room to connect with other attendees. Each event will feature a moderated panel of campaign partner organization leaders as well as open networking times.

Weaving a Social Fabric in Baltimore
Social trust is the glue that holds our communities together and allows us to build a stronger, more connected Baltimore. The Weaver Awards will recognize and support the most trusted people and small groups throughout the city working daily to weave a tight social fabric that includes us all. 

What are Weaver Awards?
The Awards are a partnership of Weave: The Social Fabric Project and M&T Bank in Baltimore. Ten people or small groups will each receive $7,000 to support community work. The awards are designed for those who rarely receive grants and operate with budgets of $0 to $250,000.

What is the purpose of Weaver Awards?
The people who create connections are rarely recognized, supported, or even seen and the relationships they create are the glue that allow all other community-building to succeed. The Weaver Awards will highlight and connect these community trust builders with each other and resources they might need to continue strengthening their communities.

How will Awardees be chosen?
Anyone can apply by completing a simple application and providing brief nominations from neighbors. You can apply online at WeAreWeavers.org from June 2 - July 2.  A committee of fellow Baltimoreans will choose and announce the winners in July.
