Spark creates accessible dance works, and this virtual experience will allow audiences to watch The Events on film, from home! This virtual performance will combine dance and music on screen with a large array of collaborators. You will receive a link to watch all 9 films on Friday, November 20, 2020. Please enjoy the films as many times as you'd like between from the 20th until the link expires on November 27, 2020 at 11:59pm ET.

Part I: Three works by guest choreographers: JoJo Boykins, Dolly Sfeir, and Matt Dittes

Part II: "The events that took place," a longer work by Artistic Director Michelle Thompson Ulerich

Film Collaborators include Alice Chacon, Alexander Sargent, Jessica Ray, Kar'mel Antonyo Wade Small, Jane Sato, Angelina Bartolozzi, and Matt Dittes.

All of the works in The Events connect to themes around events and shifts in our lives. There are events that change us forever. The chain reactions that occur after these events inform all of our future interactions and relationships. "The events that took place" will dive into different episodes of life and peer into these moments of change. In some cases these occurrences create wounds in the fabric of our lives. The discovery and healing that takes place after momentous events helps to shine light into those dark places.

This performance will be appropriate for all audiences, but best enjoyed by those ages 10 and up. We kindly request each person watching The Events to purchase a ticket. Your support makes this work possible for our wonderful artists and collaborators. Tickets can be purchased by credit card (through PayPal) or PayPal.

Spark Movement Collective is celebrating 11 years this fall! Please consider donating to this campaign and launching us into our next decade! I stepped into the role as artistic director in April of 2020, and it has been a wild ride! I am so grateful for the board members, company dancers, and collaborators. Your donation would mean so much to me and would help this company continue to thrive. Our mission is to create an accessible dance experience, and your donation would help us continue to do that!
