The Beauty of Unconditional Support

One of our favorite quotes comes from Rachel Carson, which reads, "There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature - the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter." You may have read it before in our messaging over the last two years. We’re so often reminded of the truth of this quote here at Lula Lake. There is something infinitely healing about nature, but we have discovered something else that heals just as much as those repeated refrains—the unconditional support of Lula Lake lovers.

Donor impact can be witnessed along every trail at our Core Preserve. Come see yourself during an Open Gate Day or Private Guide Hike. These unconditional supporters have been with us with each changing season from the bloom of spring to the fallen leaves of autumn and back again. Donors are the determining factor to success of any nonprofit organization—the reason for Lula Lake’s accomplishments as a leader in conservation.

As spring begins and 2022 stretches before us, our loyal donors—the true Heroes of Conservation—are beside us as we continue to maintain the Core Preserve for those seeking an escape into nature, provide empowering recreational opportunities within our conservation footprint, focus attention to forest health in our watershed, and continue to provide a critically biodiverse habitat of native species that call Lula Lake home.

Meet Our New Community Engagement Coordinator
Daniel Roberts joined Lula Lake this month as our new Community Engagement Coordinator!

As a seasoned river guide, former mountain biking guide, and hiking guide in Yellowstone National Park, Daniel has extensive experience in educating participants about the history and significance of preserving the land on which they are recreating.  After spending much time developing his career while exploring in Colorado, Montana, and California, he has settled back home in the South.

“I grew up kayaking the local rivers and exploring the abundance of protected resources this beautiful region has to offer,” he says. “I recently took a 21-day rafting trip through the Grand Canyon via the Colorado river, and witnessing the magnitude of this giant protected resource inspired me to apply for the Community Engagement Coordinator position.”
Daniel is passionate about connecting people to their natural environment. It is his desire to continue this through stewardship, education, and advocacy for the special place we know as Lula Lake Land Trust. “I have always been dependent on the land not just for my hobbies but also for my overall mental and physical health,” he adds. “I’m excited to introduce diverse groups of people into the Core Preserve so they can also benefit from visiting this natural gem we work so hard to protect.”
