U.S. Capital Raising and M&A Highlights

AJO, a Philadelphia -based value investing firm run by Ted Aronson is giving $10 billion back to its investors and shutting down.
Applied Intuition, an engineering software provider, has raised a $125 million Series C financing round from Lux Capital, Andreessen Horowitz and General Catalyst with equal participation from each fund.
Blackstone Group Inc reached an agreement to buy Simply Self Storage from Canada's Brookfield Asset Management Inc for ~$1.2 billion.
Carlyle Group Inc is nearing an agreement to acquire Siemens AG's mechanical drive arm Flender, for about for about 2 billion euros ($2.37 billion), Bloomberg News reported citing sources.
Cenovus Energy Inc will buy Husky Energy Inc in an all-stock transaction valued at C$23.6 billion, the companies said in a statement Sunday.
iiRcade, a connected arcade machine for gamers to own and play their favorite retro and modern arcade games at home, announced the closing of $5.5 million dollar seed investment round led by Gauss Capital Management.

SolarWinds is to acquire SentryOne, a leading technology provider of database performance monitoring and DataOps solutions on SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and the Microsoft Data Platform.
StreetShares, a Reston, Va.-based mission-driven financial technology company, secured $10m in funding from Motley Fool Ventures, Ally Ventures and other fintech angel investors.
Ware, a San Francisco, CA-based technology startup deploying autonomous drones for warehouse inventory counting, closed a $2.5m seed funding round. The round was led by UP Partners.
