Welcome to BPW 2021-2022

Seasons Greetings Sisters. I hope you are enjoying all the sights and sounds of Christmas. I am so proud of all the holiday festivities we have in our area. We are becoming our very own Hallmark city in Centralia. And I love every bit of it! I've been busier this year than I ever have. I have to say that I didn't know that I still had 17 hour days in me. It's exhausting, but totally worth every minute!

I'm so proud of our organization! We collected 126 food items for the food bank and $235 cash for them as well. For our Adopt-A-Family Christmas project we collected $500!! Stephanie House and I did the shopping which was loads of fun! We were able to adopt a 14 year old boy and a 12 year old girl this year. We had $30 left over so we bought two $15 gift cards to McDonalds for them. The board wrapped all the presents after the meeting on Monday, and the BCMW was extremely grateful. Check out our Facebook page for pictures. It is said a single act of kindness can change a person's life forever, and I feel blessed that we have done our part this Christmas.

The Scholarship applications are up on our website so spread the word. Thank you Stephanie House! And speaking of scholarships, we still have a few T-Shirts available for purchase for our fundraiser. You can get one for $20 by contacting Tammy Resch at tammyresch521@gmail.com.

I'd also like to congratulate our President-Elect Tischa Daugherty on a new job opportunity and a return to school to further her education. I'm sure you all will join me in wishing her the best of luck in her new venture.

I'm super excited that we can have an in-person Christmas Party this year. It's at Fairways at Greenview in the private room by the restaurant. We will be ordering off the menu, so you can get whatever you want. You can take a look at the menu by looking them up on Facebook @fairwaysatgreenview. I would advise getting there by 5:15-5:30 so that it will help the ordering process. Take a look at the flyer in this newsletter for more information on the party.

I hope to see you all at the meeting next week, and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year.

Helping Kids at One Hope

Lorraine Bassett is collecting again this year for One Hope as she does every year. She purchases $5 gift cards to McDonalds for the kids. This is a real treat for them and a great incentive to encourage good behavior. You can get the donations to her personally, mail it to Carrie Perkins-Schnicker at 2008, Shook Lane in Centralia, or bring it to the party. This is just another example of the love and big hearts our organization has for each other, and for helping out the youth in our community.

Welcome New Member Kristin Phillips

We are very excited to welcome new member Kristin Phillips. Kristin was inducted by Membership Chair Mary Davis at the November meeting. We are looking forward to having a new Sister and in our organization and the possibilities that brings to the new year.

IFBWC Job Opportunity

It was announced at Interim Board that Data Base/Web Mistress, and Administrative Assistant, Tina Klein, is resigning her position next year in May after the convention. There is some discussion into dropping the Administrative Assistant position and just having a Data Base/Web Mistress. This is a paid position starting at $12 an hour and increasing from there. It would consist of 15-20 hours a month working from home, and attending a zoom board meeting once a month. Menu: Everyone can order separately from the menu. An RSVP email will be sent out on the 6th, so please respond so we can let them know how many are planning on attending. It is suggested if you can, to arrive at 5:15 to get a head start on ordering and help things go a little smoother. The bar will also be available to order drinks from.

Program:
Bring a favorite food ornament of your choice (wrapped but don't put your name on it) for the ornament swap. Wear your sequins. the best sequin outfit wins a prize. And more fun and surprises.

SIGN IN PLEASE!

The "sign-in" sheet will be available. Please sign it no matter what time you arrive - it still counts!
