October 2020

FROM THE PRESIDENT

Welcome to BPW 2020-2021

 "Growing Together"

Hello BPW Sisters and welcome to October.  The air is crisp and a new landscape of colors are on full display.

September was a great month.  We had an opportunity to gather at Schwatrz's Orchard thanks to Nancy James.  The weather was perfect and so was the meal from Baldy's BBQ and Catering.  A huge thanks to Julie and Aaron Lorrence for feeding us.
September was also the launch of our new "Ladies Night Out" workshops.  The event was held at Colonial Golf Course of Sandoval thanks to the kindness of owner, Heather Day. I think we had a great turn out for, "All about the Succulents".  I'm getting some very positive feedback. More about the event and funds raised will be discussed at the general meeting.

October will usher in "BPW Week".  Chairperson, Emily Kracht will discuss the events  for the week and explain the changes made to keep with Covid 19 restrictions.  It will still be a week of celebration that I am looking forward to.

We will return to the Elks Lodge for the October general meeting with a few changes of course.  We can not be served a buffet meal, instead we will have plated meals.  The meal will consist of you choosing from one of two meat options, a vegetable and potato side, dessert and drink will be included.  No salad will be served.  With the Elks not serving daily the kitchen can not make use of the leftovers we have had in the past.
Please RSVP your choice of meat to my email tammyresch521@gmail.com by Monday October 12th.  Chef Stephanie thanks you for your understanding.

President Elect, Carrie Perkins-Schnicker has asked everyone wear their favorite  decorated Halloween hat or mask to the general meeting for her program, "Halloween SurPrizes".  Carrie has also provided a link for information regarding Equal Pay Day Rally.

The newsletter is lengthy, but this always so much to discuss in October.  Please read through everything carefully.
Take care and I hope to see you all at the general meeting!
