Welcome to February's Newsletter!!!
It certainly has not quite been the start to the year any of us were expecting and challenging for all of us.
With Mainland Scotland still in lockdown, Peterhead town centre has been hit hard, along with all others. While this saddens us, there is light at the end of the tunnel, with the vaccine roll out and prospect of a reduction in restrictions. During this time we have also seen changing patterns of doing business, with a new revitalised interest to shop local, and support for our local economy.

The way that our business community has risen to the challenges that the pandemic has presented us with, has been truly inspiring. We've watched you innovate and change the way you deliver your services, introducing safer ways for customers to shop, and working round the clock, to not only preserve your livelihoods, but to help out in our local community.

The BID team are continuing to work behind the scenes during this time on various projects and initiatives, and you’ll find updates on some of them below. I would also like to draw particular attention to the upcoming AGM meeting.

Hope to see you at the AGM this Thursday (25th of February)!
John Pascoe

Peterhead Business Directory
Work is underway on creating a Peterhead Business Directory which when launched will be located on the Rediscover Peterhead website. We will ask each business to review their own business details to make sure these are accurate and up-to-date. We will be in touch in the near future with further information regarding the Peterhead Business Directory.
Peterhead Producers’ Market

We have decided to cancel what would have been the first market of 2021 on 6 March. Public safety is imperative and given the current situation, there is just too much uncertainty to proceed.

So the market calendar for 2021 is as follows:
3 April
1 May
5 June
3 July
7 August
4 September
2 October
6 November
27 November
4 December

The last two markets are open to change. We are looking at the possibility of one them being a special Christmas market, and we'll let people know about that in due course. Of course all of these dates are provisional, depending on COVID-19 and developments.
