Reclaiming Liberty

Mike Swadling writes about the importance of a prominent political party standing up for freedom.

“You don’t have to win general elections to exert influence.  If you can gain some support in the polls the major parties will take note”

“a small group of MPs wanting to see off a threat from freedom focused candidates would likely be opposed to the governments next imposition on us”

“As a minimum, each time you stand you will raise awareness.  You may deliver or hand out some thousands of leaflets with a simple message supporting free speech, supporting free choice”

Croydon Council Omnishambles

Tough times are ahead for both council taxpayers and the users of Croydon Council's services.

Chief Executive Jo Negrini has left Croydon Council.  The announcement comes two days after the admission that the council, which is predicting a £65 million overspend, could face effective bankruptcy. - https://www.mylondon.news/news/south-london-news/croydon-council-cost-bankrupt-resign-18839662

The council's financial problems have even made the BBC, who reported “Croydon Council faces a £65.4m overspend in the 2020-21 financial year but only has £10m of reserve funds." - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-england-london-53935269

The Financial Times reports “Some other councils in London are in difficulties, although none as bad as Croydon” - https://www.ft.com/content/ed6b4e34-ef53-466d-a0e7-66b9a6db8992

What's online?

Being down with the youth, Dan and Mike were just about to prepare a rap video about targeted inflation but thankfully the Bank of Jamaica stepped in so the world has been spared this…..  The Bank of Jamaica released a brilliant educational video promoting stable, predictable inflation.  Further details and the video is below - https://order-order.com/2020/08/28/watch-bank-of-jamaicas-inflation-busting-bop/

As highlighted in our last email friend of the Podcast and a leading light behind The Full Brexit, Dr Lee Jones has been writing away recently.  He writes recently about this years A-Level results and the effect on the university sector in the Spectator - https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-a-levels-fiasco-will-cripple-our-crisis-ridden-universities.  Also in the Spectator he wrote about China’s foreign policy - https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-myth-of-china-s-debt-trap-diplomacy-

Lastly the Social Democratic Party have a series of SDP Talks on YouTube.  Well worth a listen especially to a recent talk with Claire Fox - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jh383l80Cx0&t=496s

If you think you know someone who’s interested in a non-woke world view, or is interested in challenging Croydon Council.  Why not get them to sign-up to these emails.
