Mi Mye is the project of Jamie Lockhart from the north coast of Scotland, who is supported by musician friends from Wakefield and Leeds. Lyricist and fiddle player Jamie learnt to play in the Highlands, and often leans on his roots of folk music and storytelling to produce beautiful songs of empathy and hope. The other band members each bring their own influences and musicianship to create intricate songs - at times life-affirming, at times downright heartbreaking - which envelop Jamie's lyrics.

Mi Mye have been compared to Sparklehorse, the National and Will Oldham.

"Mi Mye offer subtly contemplative, emotive music that grows in stature with each listen”
Drowned In Sound

"Mi Mye are able to surge into new areas, incorporating personal and often quite unexpected, experiences. A mature, nuanced return”

“A poignant setting which combines exceptional storytelling and an intricate instrumental, this one is a must listen”

“An album that feels like it was made for a simple love of songwriting and feels intimate and important as a result, it’s simply the best Mi Mye record yet”
For The Rabbits

"A fragile voice emoting what it is to be human in both the big and little things”

Sunday 6th October 2019

We are chuffed to bits to be welcoming Elaine Palmer back to the attic in October!
Elaine hails from an isolated village up on the North Yorkshire Moors but spent most of her life travelling back and forward to her family in Phoenix, Arizona. Growing up in an old Watermill in the wilds of Yorkshire Elaine surrounded herself by music, writing songs influenced by her surroundings both in Yorkshire and Arizona. Elaine finely honed her distinctive voice and built a reputation for her emotive mesmerizing stage presence. Elaine has released a handful of records and toured the UK and USA, sharing a stage with the likes of Patty Griffin, Seasick Steve, Lillie Hiatt and Paolo Nutini.

Elaine's success continued receiving airplay on Radio 2 by Bob Harris, declaring himself a fan and fantastic reviews from MOJO, UNCUT, MAVERICK, RnR. Still Life was released in 2017, play listed by British Airways on all their flights Worldwide and received masses of airplay from UK and USA stations reaching the Top 10 in the Indie Charts. Desert Songs released Feb 2019 is influenced by her travels in South West America and Mexico featuring MG Boulter 0n Pedal Steel who Elaine has toured with. Desert Songs has already received masses of airplay from radio both here and in the USA and has been seen as her best work to date…

"With a beautifully conversational voice, an unerring sense of melody and a bittersweet and wistful repertoire, Elaine Palmer is undoubtedly a talent" ****

"A rich and powerful voice that ranges from a subtle whisper to a full-blown bluesy edge and writes incredible songs that stand-up to repeated listenings" ****

"The tight accompanying combo and light-touch production let the well-crafted songs do the work, resulting in an impressively textured album" ****

"Her music has textures of New Country while being authentic, dark and edgy. I believe that if there is some possible way that Karen Anne Carpenter, Stevie Nicks and Jonny Cash had a child together, that child would be Elaine" ****
