Find out how innovative cooperation will bridge the gap between universities and enterprises about Audience Development (AD) in the cultural sector

SECOND EDITION OF THE TWIN-TRACK PROGRAMME

POSTGRADUATE STUDY PROGRAMME IN AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT 2019/2020
--------
Even though the CONNECT project will come to its end in December 2019, its legacy will continue in each of the five countries involved. The second edition of the training programme in audience development is in a different phase in each region. While Denmark and the United Kingdom are in the planning phase of the new version of the programme which will be launched throughout 2020, Spain, Poland and Italy have the following news:

IN SPAIN

University of Deusto & Asimétrica

The pilot version of the postgraduate course Expert in Audience Strategy was delivered with great success at the University of Deusto in Madrid throughout the academic year 2018-2019. As a legacy of the CONNECT “Knowledge Alliance for Audience Development” project, an improved edition has now been launched.

Based on the principles of design thinking, the Expert in Audience Strategy is designed to bring new ideas and tools to cultural management practitioners and to open a new way of independent learning through the action research methodology. With the personalised support of academic and professional mentors, each participant will design and implement his or her own audience development project, growing as a professional while adding value to his or her organisation.

We are looking for cultural managers who want to learn by doing and seek to innovate in audience development. The call for the selection of applications will be open until December 9, 2019, and the programme will run from January to June 2020. All the updated information on the timetable, registration, content or teaching staff can be found here.

IN POLAND

Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan & City of Warsaw

In the new academic year 34 participants – students and professionals employed in different types of organisations – joined the 2nd edition of the postgraduate study programme in audience development. The programme is hosted by Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and delivered in close cooperation with the City of Warsaw and the City of Poznan.

We wish the new students a fruitful time!

CONNECT IN BRUSSELS

CONNECT in the Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliances Cluster Meeting 2019 and in the 8th European University-Business Forum in Brussels

From the 23rd to the 25th October 2019, CONNECT has been present in Brussels in two different events.
On the afternoon of the 23rd October, Macarena Cuenca (University of Deusto, project leader) and Antonia Silvaggi (MeltingPro) represented CONNECT at the Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliances Thematic Cluster Meeting on University-Business Cooperation.

After the welcoming and a couple of presentations on the policy context and the takeaways from the previous cluster meeting, we were introduced to the ‘Experience sharing session’. CONNECT was assigned to the Innovation, creativity and technology group, where we could meet other very interesting projects and share our challenges and experiences.
During the next two days, CONNECT was also represented at the 8th European University-Business Forum with an amazing stand thanks to the contribution of Julie Mariq (ENCATC), who carefully prepared the posters, brochures and postcards needed.

Moreover, on the 24th October CONNECT opened the Pitch Corner Programme. We had 10min to present the project and answer a couple of questions. Our mentoring scheme captured the attention of the audience.

TOOLKIT OF EXERCISES FOR MENTORS

This toolkit was developed by Adrian De La Court and Sian Prime (Goldsmiths), in collaboration with Melting Pro.

The kit was developed as a reference guide to help the mentors enrolled in the CONNECT Programme to manage the one to one relationship with the mentee. However, it is useful both for individuals or organisations that are either new to mentoring as methodology, either for experienced mentors, since there is a rich tool section to use as prompts during mentoring meetings.

You are going to find: an explanation of mentoring within CONNECT, the structure of the mentoring programme, and the tools.

Many of these tools have been developed with Nesta (www.nesta.org.uk), or at Goldsmiths.
