They Broke Bread in their Homes...
Batts Abroad - August 2022
The night before Ruth and Clara started school, we walked over to the track behind our apartment for some skateboarding / scootering / biking / walking time. This feeling of the end of summer came over me and I realized that we're now entering our second season in Québec.

Summer was marked by exploring, settling, and being together as a family... But fall looks different.

We're all learning new information, new skills, and new routines. We're all working to make new friends and build deep relationships in our community and areas of influence. And, truth be told, we're all looking forward to cooler weather, sweaters, and changing leaves!

The sign above our dining room table quotes Acts 2.46: "They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts." With that verse in the back of our minds and imprinted on our hearts, we're discovering our ministry rhythm while intentionally asking God what He'd like us to do.
  • We prayer walk once a week around Laval University so that we can begin ministering to international students.
  • In early September, we're starting a study about discipleship with a few other families from our church.
  • Allen and I are each looking into ways to use our interests and gifts to plug into our neighborhood (Sainte-Foy) and get to know people.
First day of première année (first grade) for Ruth and
maternelle (kindergarten) for Clara!
We're just three months into our lives here in Québec and we're continuously thankful that God brought us here. Life is full and hard and we wouldn't trade it for anything this side of eternity. We are thankful for those God has called to partner in this work through prayer, encouragement, and financial support. Thanks, friends, for serving the God of Angel Armies with us.
