Time to rest and Time to plan

What a summer we’re having!  It took some time but we finally got the weather we’ve all been waiting for.  As is the norm in the region, it’s either freezing cold or extremely hot.

This is often how it is in business too.  We go through extremely busy times and then things seem to grind to a halt.  It then takes tremendous effort to get that rock back up the hill and create that momentum that gets our business going.

While it is important to enjoy that sacred time with family and create memories that last forever, it can also be the right time to reflect on what we want the second part of the year to look like.

Put some time aside to plan, put some thoughts and vision on paper and start connecting with partners to pave the way for a busy fall and winter.
I always use this 5 step process in planning for my year end:
  1. What are the areas I can improve on
  2. How am I doing year to date on my annual business plan
  3. What do I need to focus on to get there
  4. Who should I talk to over the next 6 weeks to help me
  5. Where do I want to be in 12 months
Once I identify the answers to those 5 points, I can then create a 30 day, 60 day and 90 days plan to get me to the end of the year and I can the hit the ground running when things pick up in the fall.

Now is the time to review those things because we all know of the whirlwind that happens to our schedule after Labour Day!

Let us help you in that process, reach out to your fellow members, connect with your business community and work together to get that rock up that hill.

Enjoy the rest of the summer.

Finally, back by popular demand, “Give and Get Networking” will be a main focus of our day and we will be working with local restaurants to develop an assortment of delicious food for breakfast and lunch!
