The B2B, our newsletter, for which, you, our valued member can communicate what’s new and what you want to get out to the wider business community. It could be an open house you are hosting, extended hours, charity function, new services/ products, etc.

Please share information for the newsletter no later than the 26th of each month by emailing info@gacc.ca. Documents sent must be in word or jpeg format. The newsletter will be sent out on the first Tuesday of each month.

 
A Call for Nominations: Chamber Board of Directors
 
Nominations are now open! The Greater Arnprior Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations from members to let their name stand for election to the Board of Directors for 2020.

Positions are for a one year term. Applicants should have the ability to fill a time commitment of approximately 10 meetings per year. (Currently, the Board meets on the second Tuesday of the month from 7:30am – 9:00am) All positions are confirmed annually by the membership present at the Annual General Meeting.

Chamber Update

The Chamber celebrated Small Business Week with 2 events.  Below are some photos from our Networking Breakfast with guest speaker, Michael Hughes, North America's Networking Guru and from Fall Fest which took place on October 24th.  The Chamber would like to thank all businesses that participated - we look forward to next year!
Chamber renewal notices will be emailed out next week. The cost remains the same at $125 until December 31st, 2019 and then will increase to $150.  Thank you for your continued support of the Chamber!

Up Coming Chamber Events

Our November Social that was scheduled for November 13th at Jim's Restaurant will now take place in January. We apologize for any inconvenience.
New members will receive their GACC plaque and stickers for 2020 will be handed out that night for those who have taken advantage of our Early Bird Pricing.  We look forward to seeing you there!

ontrac Arnprior is celebrating its 20th year in service, delivering FREE professional and confidential employment assistance services for all clients, employers and community partners in the Arnprior area.  Funded in part by the Government of Ontario and the Federal Government, ontrac delivers Employment Ontario programs to assist job seekers with the support, training and skills they need to find work. 
 
We can assist with:

Job Search Coaching
Career Decision Making/Career Exploration
Employment Goal setting/Identifying Skills
Workshops to support finding work
Free computer lab available to job seekers for job search purposes; high speed internet, printer, fax, photocopier and job board
 
ontrac Employment Resource services also delivers Employment Ontario programs to local employers to assist with their hiring and training needs.  Job Matching, Placement and Incentives (JMPI) aims to help individuals obtain career-related work experience, helps employers to find employees for jobs they are trying to fill, and provides recruitment supports such as job matching, resume screening, job posting, job fairs, etc.  In some cases, wage incentives are provided to employers who hire and help individuals transition into the labour force. 
 
The Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) supports skills training for individual(s) that meets the workforce development needs of employers.  Training supported through the Grant is driven by employer demand and must be directly related to the skills that meet their workforce development needs.  Employers may be eligible to receive up to $10,000 per trainee, as reimbursement for training costs.  This program is intended to support employers in taking a greater role in workforce development. 
 
ontrac is excited to announce that we will be sponsoring the 2019 GACC Annual General Meeting / Christmas Social at Krave Bistro on December 4, 2019.  We look forward to seeing you there!
 
ontrac has built and continues to maintain a strong partnership with the Greater Arnprior Chamber of Commerce, and other local employers and community partners, and aims to play a significant role in the economic development of the Arnprior area.
The Chamber would like to thank Clancy's Drug Store, Krave Bistro and Cathy Sherlock from Cathy’s Wellness and Essential Oils for donating door prizes for Fall Fest.  The winners were Jennifer Phillips, Amy O'Connor, Erin Kippen and Kayla Jobin.
