Arnprior Business to Business

"Every business has a story worth telling"
September 3, 2019

The B2B, our newsletter, for which, you, our valued member can communicate what’s new and what you want to get out to the wider business community. It could be an open house you are hosting, extended hours, charity function, new services/ products, etc.

Please share information for the newsletter no later than the 26th of each month by emailing info@gacc.ca. Documents sent must be in word or jpeg format. The newsletter will be sent out on the first Tuesday of each month.

Social Media is something I’m sure most entrepreneurs are sick of hearing about but the truth is whether you or a small local shop or a large national retailer your business NEEDS an online presence.

Business owners, especially in small communities are most likely to tell you that word-of-mouth advertising is key to their business and the truth is, social media has only expanded the reach of word-of-mouth advertising and allowed you the opportunity to control the message. Now instead of telling a handful of friends in conversation about their experience at a business, customers can do 1 single post and reach hundreds of friends and acquaintances, or even complete strangers depending on where they are posting or better yet they can simply share your post if you are putting content out there!

With a social media presence you are taking the traditional networking and personal care you provide to your customers online. Social media is where people can get to know your brand or even yourself on a different level then they would just through a website. It allows you to share new products, promotions, tips and tricks, exciting events or announcements or even just behind the scenes with your customers, and then allows them to easily share this content with their networks. It allows you to engage with your customers and to have them exposed to your business on a daily basis rather than only when they walk through the door.

When looking at starting or growing your social media presence it’s important to start small and grow from there. Focus on one platform and focus on doing it consistently versus trying to do the minimal on multiple platforms. There are so many articles, videos and podcast on everything you could ever want to know about each platform. Utilise your google search bar and take time to learn about the platform you want to use and grow from there.

When posting on social media you should prioritize providing value, and education to your customers instead of just selling to them. Remember you are just taking what you are already doing in person and bringing it online so if you wouldn’t do it in person, don’t do it online! You wouldn’t just run up to a customer in your store and shove something in there face and say on sale today $50. You would more likely tell them a little bit about the product, tell them why it would be great for them, or what is different about it or important about it and then maybe mention that it’s on sale or wait until they ask the price. The same should go for your posts online.

Regardless of where you are at in your social media presence keep an eye out on the Town’s website, social media and Chambers Facebook for more information on Social Media School coming this fall…
