As I contemplated the excitement to come, I had three wishes: England to win the Cricket World Cup, Federer to triumph over Djokovic at Wimbledon and Lewis Hamilton to take the chequered flag at Silverstone. Diverse teams have better outcomes
It was the most tumultuous of days at Lord’s as England somehow managed to squeak past New Zealand 
to win the Cricket World Cup by the tiniest of margins. In a riposte to the ignorant and narrow-minded forces of populism, it was refreshing to see that an England team led by an Irishman and with roots in New Zealand, Pakistan, Barbados and South Africa exemplified the power of diverse teams. More evidence that diverse teams perform better follows later. 
Learning in the flow of life
Learning was rated as the top challenge in Deloitte’s 2019 Global Human Capital Trends study highlighting 
three key trends: more integrated with work, more personal and heading towards a lifelong model. Vodafone is one of the companies leading the way in this shift, so do tune in to this week’s episode of the Digital HR Leaders podcast with Catalina Schveninger, Global Head of Learning at Vodafone.
