Welcome to issue #14 of The Digital HR Leader...

When Jonathan Ferrar and I created the Nine Dimensions of Excellence in People Analytics model, we identified seven of the most critical questions to help HR leaders create a roadmap to be more successful at people analytics.

The role of the leader is critical to the success of people analytics
One of these seven questions centres on the crucial role of the Head of People Analytics. I have yet to come across an organisation that is successful at people analytics that doesn’t have an inspirational leader. Business acumen, political astuteness, managing stakeholders, complexity and change, as well as ensuring the team’s work drives measurable outcomes are just some of the many qualities required.

How do you combine the Global Head of People Analytics and Chief Data Officer for HR roles?
There are obviously a lot of synergies between data and analytics. One person who understands that better than most is Eden Britt, who combines being Global Head of People Analytics with the role of Chief Data Officer for HR at HSBC. Eden talks to me about both roles in
EP5 of the Digital HR Leaders podcast and video series, which is available on myHRfuture today. Eden is one of the most respected leaders in the field, so I know you’ll enjoy listening to How to Build a People Analytics team in a Global Organisation.
