Student Academic Integrity Resources for Units

Arts & Science Student Academic Integrity has established a new SharePoint to help instructors and academic units navigate the student academic integrity process. Units can also request academic integrity information sessions for instructors and staff via the linked form.

A&S Teaching & Learning Events

  • Community of Practice Session: Flipped Classrooms and Online Learning – Student Perception and Feedback: October 14, 2022, 11 am–12 pm on Zoom.
  • Teaching & Technology Drop-Ins: October 18, 2022, 12–1 pm on Teams.

Strong(er) Mayors: What Difference Will They Make?

The provincial government’s strengthening of Toronto and Ottawa mayoral powers, and its intention to expand these new powers to other Ontario cities, has attracted plenty of attention, both positive and negative. The Institute on Municipal Finance & Governance’s expert panel will examine what the “strong mayors” policy actually means: Will strong mayors really mean stronger cities?

Registration Available: TIDE Workshop for Faculty 

The Toronto Initiative for Diversity and Excellence (TIDE) will be offering its Unconscious Bias 101: Workshop for U of T Faculty to support equity, diversity, and inclusion. This workshop is intended for faculty. 
Date: October 27, 1–3 pm

Peer-to-Peer Faculty Mentoring for Teaching

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) is a cohort of paired colleagues who have similar teaching goals and interests, collaborating in a reciprocal 1-1 partnership through structured, facilitated workshops to improve the quality of their course, and the student learning experience. P2P offers a supportive space for instructors to try new strategies, approaches and build confidence in their teaching. The deadline to apply is November 1. 

A&S Postdoctoral Fellowships – Call for Proposals

Arts & Science Postdoctoral Fellowships are designed to provide outstanding recent doctoral students advanced training in their field of study. These fellowships are not discipline specific, but rather can be held in any department or research unit across A&S at the University of Toronto. Applicants must secure sponsorship of a supervisor, or supervisors, from the professoriate (tenure stream) within the Faculty.
Nomination deadline: December 1, 8 pm EST

Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation Welcomes Two New Deputy Directors

CTSI announces Andrea Williams (Associate Professor, Teaching Stream, and Director of the Writing & Rhetoric and Innis One, Innis College) and Keith Adamson (Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work) as Deputy Directors. Working closely with Director Alison Gibbs, the Deputy Directors will support the continued implementation of CTSI’s strategic priorities and further enrich the Centre's role as a leader in educational and faculty development.

Adams Sustainability Celebration 

Hosted by the Committee on the Environment, Climate Change, and Sustainability (CECCS), the annual Adams Sustainability Celebration is a tribute to the growing community of sustainability-minded students, faculty, and staff at U of T. Applications are now being accepted for the 2022-23 Sustainability Grants.
