Summer 2021 Course Material Orders — U of T Bookstore

It’s time to place your course material orders for the upcoming term at the U of T Bookstore. Submit your orders through Verba today. For more information, contact the Bookstore or the textbook buyer team.

The Bookstore wants to help you and your students however they can. Please fill out the Staff & Faculty Survey before April 15 to help improve their services. Here are a few of the ways they can support you:

  • The Bookstore can arrange print or digital course materials — or both.
  • Students can order course materials for delivery or contact-less pick-up from the U of T Bookstore online.
  • Textbooks can be shipped directly to students domestically and internationally.

Call for Nominations — Committee on the Environment, Climate Change, and Sustainability (PDAD&C #58)

The Committee on the Environment, Climate Change, and Sustainability (CECCS) is currently embarking on a phase of membership renewal. Nominations are available for a two-year term, ending December 2022. Members of the University community are invited to submit nominations or expressions of interest to serve on the CECCS by April 25, 2021.

Monograph Publication Workshop Series

The Centre for Research & Innovation Support (CRIS) is launching a workshop series focused on the publication of monographs for humanities and social science scholars. Working on a Book Project? What I Wish I Knew... will focus on lessons learned from those who have recently published their first monograph.

Date: April 27, 2021, 10:30 am–12 pm.

How to Write and Publish an Op-Ed: A Workshop for Researchers

Universities Canada's Global Excellence Initiative is organizing a series of workshops to support Canada’s researchers in their efforts to share knowledge, research and science. The first in the series will provide insight on how to communicate research and work through op-eds.

Date: April 14, 2021, 1–3 pm

NSERC and Mitacs: Streamlined Opportunity to Support University Research & Development

NSERC and Mitacs announced a new joint initiative to support the R&D efforts of Canadian university researchers and their partners through a single application submission and review process. A&S contacts: Glaucia Lima, Research Partnerships & Business Development Officer, and Monica Caverson, Funded Research Officer.

Access Programs University Fund

The Provost's Office is accepting applications for the Access Programs University Fund (APUF), which supports initiatives to facilitate student progress and ensure students have equal and equitable opportunities to take full advantage of their education. Programs should be aligned with at least two of the Presidential Priorities. APUF provides Seed Grants ($5,000–$25,000) and Expand/Sustain/Build Grants ($15,000–$100,000). Seed applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Expand/Sustain/Build applications are due April 30, 2021.

2021 Recipients of the President’s Impact Award (PDAD&C #59)

The recipients of the 2021 President’s Impact Awards have been announced. The President’s Impact Awards celebrate and honour faculty members whose research has led to significant impact beyond academia. They recognize contributions that emerge from academic scholarship and have fully realized demonstrable impacts on any domain of society.
