Call for Applications: Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program

The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program is intended to attract and retain top-tier postdoctoral talent, both nationally and internationally; develop their leadership potential; and position them for success as research leaders of tomorrow, positively contributing to Canada’s economic, social and research-based growth through a research-intensive career. Interested applicants should be directly in touch with potential supervisors. To be considered within the Arts & Science competition, applicants must secure sponsorship of a full-time supervisor(s) from the professoriate (tenured or tenure-stream) within the Faculty of Arts & Science (primary budgetary appointment in Arts & Science, St. George Campus).

CIHR Summer 2022 Project Grant Writing Workshops & Peer Review Session

This series is for research faculty who are eligible to apply for CIHR Project Grant funding, led by Professor Jennifer Mitchell of the Department of Cell & Systems Biology — a multiple CIHR project grantee and Peer Review Committee Member — who will be joined by guest grantees and committee members.

• Revising Your Application & Preparing Your Response to Reviewers: August 3, 2022, 1–3 pm.
• New Proposal Crafting & Writing Tips: August 10, 2022, 1–2:30 pm.
• Peer Review Session: August 31, 2022, 1–4 pm. Participants must submit their draft project grant for peer review by August 24, 2022.

Quercus Advisories: Letter Grades & Group Calendars

• Please exercise caution when using letter grades in Quercus assignments, as the system is pre-configured differently than instructors might expect. Quercus Support Resources include instructions on how to mitigate this issue.
• Students who are in groups in their courses have access to a Group Calendar and may inadvertently post an entry in the group calendar as an “Event.” This sends the entry to all members of the group, potentially leading to confusion and errors in important dates. Please remind students not to create "Events."
