Adventist Health Mission Summit 2021

This note carries with it an enthusiastic invitation to the 2021 Adventist Health Mission Summit.

Our annual celebration will be held digitally this April 29 at 11:00 a.m. PDT. Our theme is Hope, and we will be blessed by stories from our teammates in Portland, Sonora and Glendale; the music of recording artist and emergency department nurse, Tad Worku; and the inspirational preaching of Bob Goff.

The live summit will provide an opportunity to chat with each other and our hosts. Immediately following, the program will be released on all Adventist Health platforms and provide the opportunity for all of our associates, partners, and guests to join this experience.

God's School

At the beginning of this school year, Highland View Christian School had five students. All year we’ve been praying for more students and boosting our advertising in Butte via different mediums. In the morning, we prayed with our students at each desk asking God to fill our school with new students. In December, we lost a student due to relocation. On Feb. 2, 2021, we were notified that our school enrollment, as of Feb. 1, 2021, was four students and we should look at our options.

Students Become Toothpick Engineers

What can you make with 750 or fewer toothpicks and wood glue?

Students from Montana's Trout Creek Adventist School created bridges — not just an art project bridge, but a bridge that can hold a lot of weight. This year all nine students in grades one to seven built a toothpick bridge that spanned 12 inches and was 4 inches wide.

Looking for Free Stock Photos?
Article by Heidi Baumgartner
Washington Conference Communication Director

My go-to places stock image sites are:
  • – All photos and videos on Pexels can be downloaded and used for free. Attribution is not required. Giving credit to the photographer or Pexels is not necessary but always appreciated.
  • – This is the Internet’s source of freely-usable images with a database of 2 million images. More modern artsy images of abstracts, people, landscapes, city scenes, business stuff and more.
  •  – With drag-and-drop design templates and a robust library of diverse stock images, both the free and paid accounts have great options.
  • – Sometimes you need a good clipart source. OpenClipArt is an excellent option! Nearly 165,000 clip art options. Use with care!
There are many brilliant stock photography sources (free and paid) licensed under Creative Commons public domain. Take a look and see what will work for you. Read the terms of service and/or licenses to understand how to properly use the image. And if possible – take your own stock imagery! It’s a fun creative challenge!
Search Tip: Images in any stock database are key-worded. Use a mix of broad or specific terms to find your ideal image. Consider emotions, places, objects, number of people, age range, and other search criteria. If you haven’t found the right images in the first three pages of results, refine your search terms. And don’t forget to turn on “Safe Image Search”!
Storage Tip: Save stock images into a specific folder. In my Stock Images folder, I have subfolders for Pexels, Unsplash, iStock, personal stock images and other sources. This helps me keep track of the source so I can give proper credit. I also have a folder for Photo Projects for my Canva downloads. It just keeps my files, my projects and my mind more organized! I only download the images that I intend to use.
