Big shout out to everyone who took part in this years World AIDS Day Run 2020.
This years event, hosted by The Sexual Health Centre Cork went virtual for the first time to allow everyone to participate while remaining within Covid restrictions and we are all so appreciative that so many joined in to run in solidarity with those living with HIV as well as tackling stigma in our communities.
Undetectable equals Untransmittable (#UequalsU) i.e. if you have HIV, and you are on effective treatment and maintain an undetectable viral load, you can’t pass on HIV to a sexual partner.
HIV is not transmitted from sweat, tears or saliva.
You cannot get HIV from toilet seats, from sharing food or utensils, or from kissing.
The Sexual Health Centre runs a free HIV testing service, which is still available by appointment throughout restrictions.
