Welcome to Boss Betty, a publication devoted to coverage of women in business. I started Boss Betty because despite 20+ years in the workforce, I have never worked at a company wholly owned and run by a woman. And as a journalist — and, well, a human — the lack of publications dedicated to professional women was appalling to me (not to put too fine a point on it!).

So far, Boss Betty has been pretty challenging. Aside from the ups-and-downs of running a media business, there's a lot of emotional labor involved — it's hard not to be furious every second when you're reporting on workplace inequality. But, we have hope! Lots of it! There's so much forward momentum in the fight for gender equality right now, and we are so here for it, and hope you are, too.  

Now that we've been live for almost six months, we wanted to share some of our favorite stories with you. We aim for an industry insider’s take with an edge, not ye olde dry, boring content — we hope you like what you read.
