Getting rid of pollution improves public health a lot faster than you’d think


A new analysis published this week shows that as soon as two weeks after a source of pollution is removed, many respiratory symptoms experienced by the surrounding community disappear and hospital visits are reduced. 

New “Forward On Climate” bills target climate adaptation

A new package of bills in Wisconsin focus on financially supporting climate-resistant infrastructure for schools and farming communities. If passed, they’ll also establish “green banks” to sustain and manage these adaptive projects.

Students at Houston ‘environmental justice’ school among young people seeking climate action

Students study traditional subjects such as math and English but also attend classes on wildlife, fisheries and ecology and agriculture. From the third floor, students can see the site of a once-massive landfill. The nearby bayou is polluted, they say, and chemical plants lining the Houston Ship Channel are only a few miles away.
