Hello co-conspirators

We've spent the last week making grand plans - so, business as usual for the team at 3Ai. We can't yet reveal the specifics, but there's lots more to update you on. Read below about our updates, upcoming events and opportunities. We've included some videos of past events too.


OUR NEWS AND UPDATES

Congratulations Dr Bentley!

3Ai's Research Fellow Dr Caitlin Bentley will be one of a select group of researchers participating in the UNESCAP-APRU-Google project “AI for social good” in 2019.

The AI for Social Good project is a collaboration between scholars, experts and policymakers who will explore questions on the potential economic and societal impacts for AI across the Asia Pacific.

3Ai's Director Genevieve Bell is confirmed to speak at Hopper Down Under this July. 

Hopper Down Under is modeled on the AnitaB.org Grace Hopper Celebration, aimed to empower women technologists in the Asia-Pacific. It brings together women technologists at all levels, from undergraduate to CEO, along with members from industry leading companies, academia, and research, to build relationships, learn, and advance their careers.

UPCOMING EVENTS

In the future, both humans and machines will be critical decision-makers. What can we learn about the art of decision-making to inform how we build future technologies? 

 
Dr Martin Parkinson, Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, will be visiting the institute as part of the 3Ai's Divergence series.

THE ADA LOVELACE STORY

The 3Ai invites you to a performance of Ada.Ada.Ada: the story of Ada Lovelace - told using an LED dress operated live on stage using a wearable tech satin glove!
