Globalization After Modernization: Disruption, Distribution & Democracy in the World Economic Order
On February 23, CAROLA and the Law and Political Economy (LPE) Project sponsored the event "Globalization After Neoliberalism: Disruption, Distribution & Democracy in the World Economic Order." Alvaro Santos, Faculty Director of CAROLA, spoke about "Re-domestication of international investment law" and reform options in the post neoliberal global economy. The New Normal of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) for In-House-Counsel
On February 10, Lelia Mooney, CAROLA's Executive Director and Adjunct Professor, spoke at the American Bar Association (ABA) International Conference on "The New Normal of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) for In-House-Counsel." She spoke about how E and S standards and considerations are driving Corporate Governance reforms in the United States and globally.

ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT

On February 9 and 24, CAROLA continued its outreach with distinguished alumni from Mexico and the United States. Dean Treanor joined us to emphasize the importance of a Latin American center at Georgetown Law.
LATIN AMERICAN LLM STUDENT ENGAGEMENT

On February 19, CAROLA hosted current Latin American LLM students from Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Peru for a virtual coffee chat with Faculty Director Alvaro Santos, Executive Director Lelia Mooney and Center for Latin American Studies' Director of Academic Affairs Angelo Rivero Santos.

Kino Border Initiative: Director of Education and Advocacy
The Director of Education and Advocacy is the primary coordinator of the educational and advocacy programs offered by the Kino Border Initiative (KBI). Responsibilities include: the development and realization of an advocacy plan that leverages the resources and network of KBI to promote humane and just migration policy as well as the development and delivery of curricula that is attentive to both the Catholic social tradition and the contemporary realities of border and migration policies.
