For short, timely news alerts with no chit-chat, join the 470+ SCG members who have already joined our SCG WhatsApp News Alert service by clicking on THIS LINK. Most of our communications are now via WhatsApp, given its ease of use, convenience and immediacy.
<<First Name>>, as we head towards the Easter holiday period, on behalf of the SCG Committee, I am delighted to share with members access to our Spring Newsletter.
We decided to try a new approach to communications this year by supplementing our WhatsApp messages with a longer form Newsletter giving more in-depth information on topics most relevant to Sandbanks.
The new form of Newsletter is available online via our website, email, and WhatsApp chat group.
We have been entirely digital in our communications in the four years that I have chaired SCG. However, this year we felt there were people - some older members and non-members - we were not reaching. So, as a trial, we have decided to produce a paper copy of the Newsletter and distribute it locally via the Post Office. You should find one that arrives in your letterbox over the next few weeks.
Clearly, there is a balance between a paper version's environmental impact and cost and our reach/promotion of SCG and inclusiveness. We considered it was worth trying one round of paper newsletters to test that balance.
If the feedback and impact warrant it, we may produce a paper version of the newsletter annually, perhaps with quarterly digital versions.
The content of the online and paper versions are more or less the same. It has all been written, formatted, edited and produced by SCG member Jill Weaver at Written Well as a professional assignment. I hope you agree that Jill has done a great job.
On this occasion, the cost of production has been met largely by sponsorship fees paid by Rumsey. Many thanks to Simon Tolson at Rumsey for his support.
I hope you enjoy the Newsletter and have a lovely Easter holiday in sunny Sandbanks!
