Dear St. John's Families,
It is a privilege to partner with you in the education of your sons and daughters. As a Catholic school community, we are not confined only to the pursuit of academic excellence. We take seriously our responsibility care for the physical and spiritual needs of every child in our school. This commitment has caused us to consider very carefully how we might best serve our families during this time of state and national emergency related to the coronavirus (COVID-19).
This morning I was invited to meet with Jordan District representatives to plan for these uncertain times. You will have already received communication from the district regarding the plans for students and staff. We will be following the district's model and are very grateful to Superindent Matt Helgerson and other leaders within the district for creating a comprehension plan to provide for families' needs.

Therefore we will be closed beginning tomorrow, Monday, March 16th. Teachers will be in contact to provide extended learning activities for Monday and Tuesday. Students will begin an extended spring break on Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, March 27 (no online learning will take place during Spring Break). Students in grades 5-6 who need their Chromebooks may come into the school on Monday, March 16th and Tuesday, March 17th to retrieve them.

This closure includes all school programs including Saints Squad Before and After School Care.
We know this is hard news. We are working on gathering resources for those of you who may need additional support during this time.

Please be assured of my continued prayers and pledge of support for each of my students and families. I am joined by Archbishop Hebda and Bishop Cozzens are praying for all of us in this time of uncertainty. Let us continue to pray for each other and all those affected by COVID-19.

In Christ,
Courtney Bierlein, Principal
