Our mission is to create a place to encounter Jesus. Steeped in love and Catholic teachings, we provide strong academics to foster continual learning in mind and spirit.

Dear St. John's Families,

Please read the email sent this morning regarding the mandated school closure.

Jordan Schools (including St. John's) will be closed tomorrow, Monday, March 16 through March 27.

Our teachers started planning learning opportunities for at-home lessons last week. On Monday and Tuesday, we will come together for prayer and continued planning to ensure learning objectives can still be met, even if students are at home.

Expect communication from me on Monday via email to inform you about our plans for the upcoming weeks.

Have you noticed all the great new STEM products we've been using at school? The Bee-Bots, Dash Bots, 3D Printer, and VR glasses have been loaned to us through the STEM Lending Library at the University of St. Thomas with generous support from the Catholic Schools Center of Excellence (CSCOE).

CSCOE has been a generous supporter of St. John's! In May you have a great opportunity to learn more about CSCOE and the work they are doing at the CSCOE Bash, their annual gala. See below for more information on The Bash!

6. Asking you to monitor your own family and keep your children home in line with our policies.

When would St. John’s close due to exposure?

Should there be a confirmed or suspected (patient under investigation) case of COVID-19 in our school community, we will:

  • Report the case to the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH)

  • Follow the guidance/recommendations of MDH

  • Communicate with our school community

  • Notify the Office for the Mission of Catholic Education

Should MDH recommend closing the school for a time, St. John’s will:

  • Communicate the closure to the school community.

  • Continue consultation with MDH to determine when it is safe for staff and students to return to school.

  • Provide resources for continued learning at home during the school closure.

  • Notify the school community of updates and procedures for returning to school.
