Dear St. John’s Families,

To clarify, it would be helpful for students in grades K-6 to all have devices to use at home to take advantage of our learning applications. If you have a device at home that your child is able to use, please use it. If you DO NOT have a device for your child to work on (supervised) we will accommodate you by lending you a school-owned device. This can be checked-out during the materials & personal item pickup time Tuesday (tomorrow) from 2 pm-6 pm. Devices may be shared among siblings. Please see below according to the grade level how these devices will be used.

Distance Learning Plan in case of Extended Closure Beyond March 30th

  • Kindergarten: Please look for weekly lessons emailed on Sundays from Mrs. Wondra
  • May use the Superkids app for reading (downloaded early this year- if you need help accessing, email Mrs. Wondra)
  • The Superkids app may be accessed via smartphone

First and Second Grade

  • Look for weekly emails from Mrs. McGuiggan Ficklin and Mrs. Klecker on Sundays

  • Mrs. Klecker and Mrs. McG will use Seesaw as another form of communication and for the delivery of some lessons

Third and Fourth Grade

  • Look for weekly emails from Ms. Oeffling and Mrs. Daniel on Sundays to include a weekly plan

  • Ms. Oeffling and Mrs. Daniel will alert you to technology needs weekly

Fifth and Sixth

  • Check the homework page on Mrs. Collings website for assignments and due dates

  • Parents and students look for weekly emails from Mrs. Stocker and Mrs. Colling on Sundays

  • Google Classroom & Google Meet will be used for instruction, materials share, and as a vehicle for students to turn in their work

I hope this clears up any device-related questions.

Courtney Bierlein
