Meet an Inventor | Double Feature

Culicidae | Urban Entomology
Meet Dr. Roberto Periera and Dr. Philip Koehler | 10 AM to 4 PM
Tackling the age-old problem of mosquitoes and their rivalry with every other living creature, Doctors Pereira and Koehler from the University of Florida's Entomology Department have created two inventions that will aid in distancing the pesky insects from in and around our homes. The first product is a plastic bottle covered in a substance that will kill mosquitoes, and their larvae, when the female lands on it. The second is a pebble-covered in this same substance that may be dropped in water where mosquito larvae lie. Come and learn how to protect yourself and your home from Florida mosquito infestation.

The car is electrically powered, with two batteries, and over 2,300 Lego power function motors and over 4,000 Lego gear wheels that transfer power to the vehicle. There isn't a gas pedal, since the car's speed is based on the motor's output voltage.
The World's First Lego Bugatti Chiron
The first Bugatti Chiron made out of 90% Legos was taken for a test run in Wolfsburg, Germany in June, and made its public debut at the Grand Prix Formula 1 event in Monza, Italy! The company that specializes in creating Legoland attractions built the vehicle by hand, attaching each Lego piece together without the aid of glue. And although it is structured exactly like this model of Bugatti, this functioning Lego replica goes only a whopping 12 miles per hour to the Bugatti Chiron's 200 miles per hour.  Click on the Lego Bugatti Chiron to see the idea in motion!
