The Silver Line Extension outreach team is excited to get the word out about the new Metrorail service coming to Reston Town Center, Herndon, Innovation Center, Washington Dulles International Airport, Loudoun Gateway, and Ashburn stations! Metro kicked off public outreach to raise awareness and inform customers about the six new Silver Line stations. The Silver Line Extension outreach team will be popping up around Arlington, Fairfax, and Loudoun counties and would love to chat. Check out this video to see what we have in store for you!

Moving and Grooving at the Loudoun County Fair and Wolf Trap

The Silver Line Extension outreach team recently celebrated with revelers at the Loudoun County Fair and danced along with music-lovers at Wolf Trap. With informational materials in hand, our team gave away totes, poppers, temporary tattoos, stickers, and sanitizer. Visitors enjoyed a surprise visit from the Metro Transit Police Department’s Hazardous Device Unit, spun our trivia wheel to win a prize, and had fun snapping pictures with our roaming photo booth!
Be on the lookout for the Silver Line outreach teams at more Wolf Trap events, Arlington County Fair, Taste! Leesburg, Dulles Day Plane Pull, Leesburg Airshow, and Brambelton Fall Fest (to name a few).

Silver Line Extension Outreach Training

Our diverse, multi-lingual outreach team members recently attended a half-day training event to learn about the Silver Line Extension, project history, timeline, and details about current and the new service. Team members were briefed on the new stations and connecting service, including the new direct connection to Washington Dulles International Airport, as well as bus service, biking, and parking options at the new stations.
The team reviewed best practices for interacting with members of the public, including people with disabilities and limited English proficiency. The outreach team was also briefed on helpful information for navigating the Metro system, including how to use SmarTrip Mobile Pay and plan your trip using Metro’s online Trip Planner.
Our energetic outreach team is excited to spread the word about the Silver Line Extension to educate current riders and encourage new riders to give it a try when it opens later this year!
