What I'm Reading

I read Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney. While it's an easy read (and myself and two of my friends read it in one sitting), the subject matter is intense: insecurities, the need to be wanted, and lack of communication between people who are closest to one another, driving them further apart.

I've been reading about the Youtube phenomenon called chillpop, how the $314 million lottery ruined the winner's life, Sixteen Theses on Walking and Poetry from Split Lip Magazine, the witches of Los Angeles, and how to turn your kids into bookworms (and emphasis on recording yourself reading their favorite books).
