The Five Senses
Sister Corita Kent: how she taught her students and how she made her art. She taught at The Immaculate Heart College and I fell in love with its rules for art. Although the video discusses those rules, take a look at them on the page here
The Good News podcast. These short and sweet episodes remind listeners that not all news is bad. It's a great thing to listen to when one first wakes up. This podcast was created by the 2017 Cards Against Humanity Saves America Project, which had five days of surprises. Day one included purchasing parts of Mexico to prevent Donald Trump from building the border wall. They also built a trebuchet
Johnny Flynn and Laura Marling singing "The Water." Both Marling and Flynn are incredible songwriters. This song in particular is so timeless with their voices blending together so well. There's always something new to discover every time I listen to it.
These ceramic donuts by Jae Yong Kim are just incredible!
The Devil is a Handsome Man webcomic available for free on Webtoon. It has gorgeous artwork and a storyline that has been pulling me along all week. The artist also sometimes includes music as one scrolls along the comic panels.

What I'm Reading

I read John and Julie Gottman's book Eight Dates: Essential Conversations for a Lifetime of Love. It's a book that contains questions about love and relationships with a goal to stay curious and think about the hard stuff like money, sex, and dreams.

This week, I read about how America's Rural Radio Stations are Vanishing, The Rise of the Rural Creative Class, which mentions my hometown area of Woodstock, NY; the rise of too many tourists and travelers, how EAET therapy can help manage chronic pain, normative male alexithymia, or in other words: the condition in which men are emotionally shut off due to developmental experiences, and the loneliness epidemic in America.
