Wattle Gully Produce is a small, chemical-free, flower and vegetable farm located in Upper Plenty, just 40 minutes from Melbourne’s North on Wurundjeri Country. The farm is tended by first-generation farmer Thanisa.
Thanisa completed her Masters in Agricultural Sciences in 2018, majoring in sustainable food systems. As part of an assessment, she had to grow food on a 2 sqm plot of land and found she could sustain herself from it.
Combining her University qualifications, permaculture practices, and passion for sustainable farming, she started volunteering at different farms, gained employment, and then founded her own farm Wattle Gully Produce.
Thanisa uses practices that are good for the land, the water and the community that surrounds it. She finds solutions through biology, not chemicals!
