Called to Renew reached a milestone this week, with more than $250 million raised toward the $500 million goal! Many blessings have come from this effort: generous gifts of time, talent and treasure offered by both priests and parishioners; opportunities to learn about the love that people have for God and their Church; and stronger parish communities that come together to build God's kingdom on earth in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

This accomplishment is particularly impressive since the majority of parishes have yet to start their campaigns and Wave 1 is just over halfway through its timeline! Exceeding 50% of the goal before introducing the Campaign in over 80% of the parishes is very exciting and is a strong indicator of continued success.

Congratulations and thank you to all of our pastors, leadership, ambassadors, and donors. Please continue to keep the success of the largest ever attempted diocesan campaign in your prayers!

St. Sebastian achieves its campaign goal!
Congratulations to St. Sebastian Church in Santa Paula for raising $36,325 this week! They have now raised $417,845 from 45 gifts, which is 104% of their original goal of $400,000. Fr. Pasquale Vuoso and the members of the Campaign Executive Committee are enthusiastic and excited to continue building momentum within the parish in the coming weeks before their receptions and Commitment Weekends. The CEC is diligently working towards their enhanced goal of $485,000 and have done a wonderful job of embracing this opportunity to meet fellow parishioners. Fr. Pasquale is looking forward to beginning the plans for building a Eucharistic Adoration Chapel using campaign funds.

St. Mary volunteers drive attendance to ministry meetings!

Fr. Vaughn Winters, pastor at St. Mary in Palmdale, is spreading the word and prioritizing visits for Called to Renew at all of his parish's ministry meetings. Fr. Vaughn will speak to “Escuela de la Cruz” this Friday night. To ensure attendance at the meeting, the Campaign Ambassadors have called each member of the ministry group to introduce them to Called to Renew before the presentation. The ministry group expressed their excitement to learn more about the Campaign.

Mission San Buenaventura in Ventura begins their restroom renovation project!

When Fr. Tom Elewaut was preparing Mission San Buenaventura's local case for support, he made the Mission's garden restrooms his first priority. The sewer line was installed in 1926 and has failed, causing frequent closures over the years. Additionally, the restrooms needed renovation work after suffering damage during previous construction efforts. This past week, The Mission started their long-awaited renovations. The community at Mission San Buenaventura is thrilled to see their campaign efforts pay off and is looking forward to beginning other improvement projects in the coming months!

Our Lady of Guadalupe in El Monte receives 12 new gifts!

Our Lady of Guadalupe capitalizes on their momentum by raising $53,300 from 12 new pledges. In the absence of Fr. William Herrera, the Campaign Executive Committee continued to work hard toward their goal. We are inspired by the Committee's leadership in advance of the Campaign Kick-off next weekend. Thank you for your hard work!

St. Maria Goretti in Long Beach celebrates a birthday--and a big week!

Happy 72nd birthday to Fr. John Schiavone! The Campaign Executive Committee celebrated the occasion during their weekly meeting on Monday night. They also celebrated bringing in $57,000 this week from 10 new commitments! The parish has raised to $407,200 to date or 87% of their campaign goal. The Committee is enthusiastic about continuing to share Called to Renew with their community. Check out a picture from the birthday celebration below!

Campaign Progress Updates

The Called to Renew Campaign is experiencing great success! These numbers are updated as of 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29.

To date, The Campaign has raised $250,156,173, which has surpassed 50% of the campaign goal! Listed below is the progress of our Pilot and Wave 1 Parish campaigns.

Many parishes are starting to host receptions. In addition to mailed invitations, volunteers should follow up these invitations with phone calls. Additionally, Mass announcements and bulletin inserts are another good way to publicize the important campaign event. A robocall is a good reminder and can be scheduled to go out two days before your reception, to all families or those who have positively RSVP'd! Please work with your Parish Campaign Director to maximize attendance at these parish-wide gatherings.
