Our Lady of the Assumption finishes first Called to Renew project!

Fr. Leon Hutton at Our Lady of the Assumption in Ventura recently celebrated the completion of one of his Called to Renew projects. Our Lady of the Assumption participated in the Pilot Wave of the Campaign and has raised $2,464,964 to date of its $1,590,000 goal.

Fr. Leon was eager to be part of the Pilot Wave so that he could get started on his projects as soon as possible. He, along with his parishioners, were excited to show how this historic Campaign could transform their parish community.

During the Campaign, Fr. Leon took the time to explain the needs at his parish, echoing the Archdiocesan call to address deferred maintenance. Fr. Leon primarily wanted to focus on providing updates to the school, and this past week - just in time for the new academic year - renovations were completed! The school received an exterior paint facelift, a new skylight, and an entire roof replacement. These improvements will benefit future generations of students and parishioners that rely on the school facilities.

Called to Renew encourages parishes to get started on projects as soon as they have collected enough funds. Parishioners are motivated to continue fulfilling their pledges if they can see the changes their donations are having in real time. The next project Fr. Leon will tackle is a remodel of the church sanctuary and creation of an outdoor gathering space. Congratulations to Fr. Leon and the team at Our Lady of the Assumption on your Campaign success, and we look forward to celebrating your transformational projects!

Our Lady of the Rosary in Paramount doubles Campaign contributions!
Congratulations to Fr. Julio Gonzalez at Our Lady of the Rosary in Paramount for doubling the amount of Campaign gifts and, as a result, nearly doubling the overall amount raised! Fr. Julio kicked off Called to Renew last weekend with announcements in all Masses and has received an overwhelmingly positive response from his community. In just one week, Our Lady of the Rosary received 14 gifts totaling more than $70,000. To date, Our Lady of the Rosary has raised $159,310 or 34% of goal. Called to Renew has given the parish a new opportunity to reconnect as a community and come together in a legacy project for their beautiful church. We are eager to bear witness to this transformation!

Congratulations to Fr. Dennis Marrell at St. Ambrose in West Hollywood for surpassing 80% of goal before their official Kick-Off Weekend. St. Ambrose has now raised $146,500 or 84% of its parish goal. Fr. Dennis is excited to remodel the parish restrooms and make wheelchair-accessible entrances in the church using Campaign funds. Prayer for Families
As we faithfully work to renew our parishes, we know that our families and communities follow. Let's take a moment to reflect and pray for families that build up our communities:

God, Our Father, loving and merciful,
bring together and keep all families in
perfect unity of love and mutual support.
Instill in each member the spirit of
understanding and affection for each other.
Keep quarrels and bitterness far from them,
and for their occasional failures instill forgiveness and peace.
May the mutual love and affection of parents set a good example.
Instill in children self-respect
that they may respect others and grow in mature independence.
May the mutual affection and respect of families be a sign of Christian life
here and hereafter, through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
