Calling for Generosity
In the book of Exodus, 35: 4-29, we learn that Moses calls for his people to give generously. First, Moses says, “From what you have, take an offering for the Lord.” Understanding that many of his people have limited resources, Moses calls on them to give in a different way. He tells them, “All who are skilled among you are to come and make everything the Lord has commanded.” By working together, they achieved what was asked of them--without the people giving their resources and skills generously, the tabernacle would not have come together.

Just as Moses called his people to come together and build the tabernacle, we too, are being called by our leader, Archbishop Gomez, to come together and help him in a historic Campaign. Called to Renew is an opportunity for us to renew and invest in our faith, our communities, our parishes, and most importantly, our future generations. This historic effort allows us to be part of something bigger than ourselves. The Campaign cannot achieve success without generosity and stewardship and we thank those who have demonstrated their dedication to their parish and the greater Catholic Church.
Presentation of Mary surpasses Campaign goal!
Congratulations to Fr. Fredy B. Rosales from Presentation of Mary in Los Angeles for not only reaching his goal of $260,000 but surpassing it within two weeks of beginning his fundraising! To date, Fr. Freddy has raised $341,700, which is 131% of his Campaign goal. Fr. Fredy is still scheduling visits for upcoming weeks and plans on securing more pledges for his parish. Campaign funds will go towards repairs for the parish’s exterior plaza and expanding the church parking lot. Thank you Fr. Fredy for your hard work and setting a fantastic example!

St. Joan of Arc receives a $100,000 pledge!
Congratulations to Fr. Joseph Quan Nguyen at St. Joan of Arc in Los Angeles for receiving a pledge for $100,000! Fr. His work ethic and dedication to his parish are truly inspiring--keep up the great work!

San Miguel receives campaign funding for urgent repairs!
Fr. Jose Valdez and Fr. Oscar Esquivel from San Miguel in Los Angeles have received deferred maintenance funding from the Called to Renew Campaign to begin urgent renovations to their church roof. This act of generosity motivated Fr. Jose and Fr. Oscar to make the Campaign a priority for the parish and began visiting parishioners before the Wave 3 Kick-Off on February 3. To date, Fr. Jose and Fr. Oscar have raised 17% of their $145,000 campaign goal with only 5 pledges. We look forward to their continued success as they continue scheduling personal visits with their lay leaders at San Miguel!

St. Thomas Aquinas receives a pledge for $100,000!
Congratulations to Fr. John Kyebasuuta from St. Thomas Aquinas in Monterey Park for receiving a pledge for $100,000. Fr. John has started his Campaign on the right foot with back-to-back personal visits in order to achieve his $455,000 Campaign goal. Half of his goal will be used to improve energy efficiency at the parish, to enhance faith formation programs, and for facility renovations that will maintain the parish for future generations. We look forward to Fr. John’s continued success!
