Spreading the Spirit of the Advent Season

We begin our new liturgical year with the Advent Season. Advent is a time of preparation for Christmas and for the Second Coming of Christ. During Advent Season, we pray to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to help us listen to His voice, and we pray that He guide us towards what’s important and meaningful. During this Season, we must strive to be kinder to one another, to share our love and compassion with those whom are in need, to help our Church, and to prepare a space within ourselves for the Lord.

Through Called to Renew, we seek to implement these intentions beyond the Advent Season and ask that you continue to show your support of our vision during our upcoming Commitment Weekends.

St. Martha in Valinda exceeds its Campaign goal!

Thomas Asia would like to thank his Campaign Executive Committee members for all their hard work and dedication. Fr. Thomas would also like to thank the parishioners, whose generosity will allow St. Martha to continue to serve their community for years to come. Congratulations on your success!
St. Patrick in Los Angeles goes over goal!
Congratulations to Msgr. Tim Dyer, Fr. Moises Apolinar, and the entire community of St. Patrick in Los Angeles for exceeding their Campaign goal! Funds from Called to Renew will benefit this parish by updating the church sound system, remodeling the bathrooms, and upgrading the HVAC units on campus. Additionally, funds will be used to purchase solar panels to reduce the parish’s environmental impact while also reducing electrical costs. We are excited to celebrate the transformation Called to Renew will bring to this parish!

Nativity in El Monte receives a $25,000 cash gift!
Fr. Roberto Jaramillo at Nativity in El Monte was delighted to accept a $25,000 check for Called to Renew this week! This incredible display of generosity is added motivation for the parish to continue fundraising as they prepare for their first Commitment Weekend! Nativity has now raised $1,020,850 or 170% of its $600,000 goal. We look forward to celebrating continued success with Fr. Roberto and the community in El Monte!

All Souls in Alhambra reaches its goal!

Commitment Weekend

This weekend, many parishes in Wave 2 will be hosting their Commitment Weekend presentations. Below are some key points to keep in mind for a success Commitment Weekend:
  • Be sure the ushers know where the Commitment Weekends cards and pens are before Mass begins.
  • The presentation should take place following the homily. Pledge cards and pens should be distributed to everyone at the beginning of the presentation.
  • Once the cards are distributed, begin by asking everyone to recite the campaign prayer together.
  • When you are finished, ask the ushers to collect the pledge cards immediately.

If you have any questions or need additional materials, please reach out to your Parish Campaign Director. We wish you the best of luck!
