Importance of Stewardship

Called to Renew is inspired by the principle of stewardship. With gratitude for those who built and maintained the churches in our Archdiocese in previous decades, we once again enhance our structures and ministries for those who will pray and enrich themselves in these sacred spaces in the future. We have the responsibility to pass on what was given to us.

Sharing our talents and our treasures are an integral part of fulling embracing what it means to be Catholic. It is our charge to be gracious for the sacrifice of others through practicing good stewardship. There are many ways to show our love and appreciation, and this call to renew will be a lasting profession of our Catholic stewardship. Now, it is our turn to be good stewards for future generations.

Prayer to Seek the Lord
November 1st is All Saints Day and this solemnity is a day that we honor all the saints. Let's take a moment to reflect on a prayer by St. Anselm, who calls on us to seek the Lord.
O Lord my God,
Teach my heart this day where and how to see you,
Where and how to find you.
You have made me and remade me,
And you have bestowed on me
All the good things I possess,
And still I do not know you.
I have not yet done that
For which I was made.
Teach me to seek you,
For I cannot seek you
Unless you teach me,
Or find you
Unless you show yourself to me.
Let me seek you in my desire,
Let me desire you in my seeking.
Let me find you by loving you,
Let me love you when I find you.
