Ways to Give 

This week, many Campaign volunteers participated in the Visitation Training to prepare them for inviting the support of their fellow parishioners. While parishioners are most interested in the impact of their sacrificial gift, they are also curious about the methods to fulfill commitments and the possible payment schedules. Here are some quick notes, so you can be best prepared to receive a pledge as a Campaign Ambassador:

Pledges are payable over five years. Payments can be made by check, credit card, automatic withdrawal (ACH), gifts of stock, or IRA distributions. Pledges can be paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually. 
 
Checks
Parishioners fulfilling commitments by check will receive a reminder statement and a pre-addressed envelope, according to the schedule they select. For example, if Jane Doe decides to pay monthly by check, she will receive a Called to Renew-specific envelope every month to use for her pledge payment. Each envelope has a unique bar code that coincides with a donor's account, so it is important to use these to maintain the most accurate records.  
 
Credit or Debit Card
If John Smith would like to pay via credit or debit card, he should complete his card information on the Electronic Payment section of the pledge card. Many credit card companies offer reward programs for cardholders; therefore, fulfilling your Called to Renew commitment via credit card may also earn you points or cash back!
 
Automatic Withdrawal (ACH)
ACH may be the easiest way to fulfill one's pledged commitment, and many Catholic families are already enrolled in this program. Through ACH, funds will be automatically debited from the account beginning the month after authorization. Donors may write their bank information on the Electronic Payment section of the pledge card or attach a voided check.
 
Stock Transfers and IRA Distributions
Gifts of stock to Called to Renew may be a source of tax benefits to the donor by eliminating capital gains taxes. Similarly, fulfilling a pledge through a direct IRA distribution will have significant tax benefits. Both of these methods of fulfillment can be addressed through an additional worksheet that your Parish Campaign Director can provide you.

St. Columbkille in Los Angeles achieves 113% of goal!
Congratulations to Fr. Ever M. Quintero from St. Columbkille in Los Angeles for surpassing his $225,000 Campaign goal! With the parish’s Centennial Celebration quickly approaching, parishioners came together to ensure that their parish remains strong and vibrant for the next one-hundred years. Fr. Quintero is looking to keep the momentum going and hopes to surpass 200% of his Campaign goal by the end of Wave 2. Keep up the great work!

St. Finbar in Burbank receives a $100,000 gift!
Just before their Ambassador Orientation on Monday, Fr. Francis Mendoza at St. Finbar received a six-figure gift toward his grand vision for the parish community. There was a lot of enthusiasm at the Ambassador Orientation for his multifaceted plan to bring the Word of God to the greater Burbank community through their Holy Spirit Center arts program. Additionally, Fr. Francis is planning to use Campaign funds to modernize and increase safety at their school. Other projects will improve the beauty of their sanctuary interior and their Faith Center that houses the Adoration Chapel, to enhance the worship experience. Fr. Francis is eager to continue inviting others to prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift and transform his community!

The staff at Our Lady of Guadalupe-Hammel propels the Campaign!
Thank you to the dedicated staff at Our Lady of Guadalupe-Hammel for their instrumental role in kicking off Called to Renew at their parish! Fr. Marco Solis, pastor, says that he could not have made the progress he has without the support of Lucy Davila and Imelda Lopez. Lucy and Imelda have contributed to the Campaign by making phone calls and scheduling visits for Fr. Marco, lining up 18 visits in one week! Because of their hard work and Fr. Marco’s testimony, Our Lady of Guadalupe-Hammel has raised 30% of goal in just two weeks. We are inspired by Fr. Marco, Lucy, and Imelda - keep up the amazing work!

Resurrection in Boyle Heights makes Called to Renew bracelets!  
Parishioners at Resurrection Church in Boyle Heights came together to make Called to Renew participation bracelets for all who have made a pledge to the Campaign. Thank you to the Resurrection Campaign Executive Committee (CEC) for their innovative idea! To date, 40 members of the community will be able to proudly wear their Resurrection Called to Renew green bracelets! Additionally, congratulations to Msgr. John Moretta and his CEC for raising $217,580 of their $395,000 parish goal, which is over 50% of their goal! The Campaign will officially be announced this weekend at mass and at the parish’s annual Mariachi Festival. We look forward to the continued generous participation of the Resurrection community!

The Called to Renew Campaign is experiencing great success! These numbers are updated as of 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 20.

To date, the Campaign has raised $287,105,930 of the Campaign goal. Listed below is the progress of our Pilot, Wave 1, and Wave 2 Parish campaigns.
