Moving on From Cautious Optimism

This newsletter was being put together while Quipu Group was attending TLCU 2021- Libraries Reimagined, a virtual event for The Library Corporation customers to share ideas, prioritize enhancements, and discuss library innovations and where we officially unveiled eRENEW. ALA Midwinter has transformed into LibLearnX, The Library Learning Experience, designed to "offer innovative and participatory education programs to help you learn, network, and find solutions" and will include virtual exhibits and an Idea Xchange. We see public libraries everywhere looking at how they can keep taking care of business in new ways, fine-tuning current processes and looking for greater efficiencies for staff and customers. We're all on board with that with the launch of eRENEW, which saves everyone time! And with Thanksgiving ahead, we want to send a huge THANKS out to all of our supporters for making 2021 a fantastic year for Quipu Group and its customers. Convenience and Efficiency = Happ(ier) Customers

Save time, reduce confusion and increase accuracy by putting customers in control of their library account renewal! With Quipu's new eRENEW service, libraries can verify continued account eligibility, without blocking access to library resources.

eRENEW is now live at Santa Clara County Library, CA  (Horizon), and is expected to go live at London Public (Ontario) on Sierra and is about ready to release at Hamilton Public (Ontario) on Polaris before the end of the year. As the name implies, eRENEW will allow patrons to renew existing library cards online without staff assistance. This saves staff time and empowers patrons to manage their own library accounts privately. This service is available to both stand-alone library systems as well as consortia!

Online Security and eCARD Update

Use a little or use a lot, the level of security your library requires when validating patrons is up to you! While most of our customers are interested in Basic Name Matching, there are many other options - Name/Birth Date, External Source Verification, Bibliocommons Account Chaining, and more. If your library is already using our eCARD service and would like to explore tighter online security, contact us! Conference Update
With TLCU in the rear view window, we're looking forward to our 2022 conference planning. Make a note to visit with us at the Public Library Association Conference in Portland, OR, March 23-25. Then come spring, we'll be participating in the Innovative Users Group annual meeting, scheduled for April 5-8, and COSUGI, April 27-29, 2021. Of course, we're happy to talk to you any time, so just drop us a line, okay?
PITS® Makes Its Library Journal Debut!
Stop by Library Journal and check out the featured article on Quipu Group's PITS® (Patron Incident Tracking Service). We've seen a surge of interest since libraries began reopening earlier this year due to staffing shortages, compressed hours, and additional outside services.

David Wright, Community Services Manager let us know that "Things are moving right along! We're excited to be on our journey with PITS. The Quipu team has been very responsive to our needs and concerns during the implementation." And this gave us an excuse to feature more dogs...
