Entrance Exam Day is Monday 11th November 2019
The School’s annual entrance examination has been brought forward and will take place on Monday 11 November this year. Unlike in previous years the boys will be engaged in a variety of activities on the day. School buses will run as normal. Departments will provide further details but the activities which we are running are:

Year 7: Geography trip to Liverpool
Year 8: PSHE day in School
Year 9: Chemistry trip to the Catalyst Museum in Widnes
Year 10: Enterprise Day in School
Year 11 to 13:are not required in School but can use the day for their private studies. However, there will be an opportunity for boys who are taking Art, Design, Music and Computer Science to work on their coursework with members of staff from those departments. With the Upper Sixth there will also be an opportunity to work on their UCAS application. We would like a number of Sixth Form to act as helpers and guides for all or part of the day and would welcome their input and support on what is a very important day for the school community.

Boys’ Successes
Three boys from the Sixth Form were awarded prestigious ties for completing 100 hours of voluntary service. Well done to Arthur Beare, Alexander Barker-Weinberger and James Daly!

Alex Sweeney U6 also won First Prize for Pianoforte Solo at the recent Southport Music Festival. Well done Alex!
Forward Planning Dates for Year 11 - January Maths GCSE Resit Exams

Rowing Report

Last weekend at Agecroft Head proved to be a challenging and exciting event for all of those in attendance.

A special mention should go to Sam Roughly, narrowly missing out on victory against a tough opponent, coming 2nd in his band of 5. Samuel also came 23rd out of 80 competitors, which included university students – a very impressive effort.
