CCF
Boys should email Mr Slemen with their preferred section before we return after the holiday on 8th January 2019.

GCSE and A Level Certificates
Examination certificates are ready for collection at Reception. As they are valuable, you will need to sign for your certificate(s) at the time of collection. Please check them carefully for any errors/omissions. If you find an error, return the certificate to me with an explanation and I will send it back to the board for amendment.

You must look after your certificate, as the board will no longer issue a replacement, only a statement of results.

You or your representative (with I.D.) may call to Reception at any time between 8.30am and 4pm.

Charity Appeal - Whitechapel Centre Liverpool

The School Council, in conjunction with the English Department, have decided to support the Whitechapel Centre in Liverpool this term.  In English, a number of year groups have been exploring the topic of homelessness and the importance of charity this term.  As well as a MUFTI day on Friday 13th December, where each boy will be asked for a donation (minimum £2 on the day) for the privilege of wearing their own clothes, the boys are being asked to try to bring in any donations of either new boxer shorts, socks or deodorant which will go in a Christmas package for the homeless men who attend the centre.

Over the next two weeks any items can be either left in the Lodge, or passed to the boy’s Form Tutor for collection. Thank you once again for your support.

Rowing
MTSBC attended Liverpool Victoria Rowing event rowing over a 3200m course & managed some respectable times despite the -3C start!

The Mens J18 4X- came 2nd in their category and came 13th out of 69 overall in the whole event.  2 of the boys were rowing up an age category.  We received lovely comments about them from other clubs and schools so well done.  The mixed 8+ came 2nd in their category despite never having been in the boat before. They came 4th out of 9 in the division and 43rd out of 69 overall.
Christmas Toy Appeal 2019
Merchant Taylors will once again be supporting the Radio City Mission Christmas Appeal this year.  1 in 3 children are living in poverty and all of the gifts are distributed locally throughout the North West. We would greatly appreciate if you are able to donate a new and unwrapped gift for a boy or girl.

Please bring your gift to Mrs O’Brien in Milton House by 16th December.  We really appreciate any support that can be given. Thank you.
