CMT Leadership Update

Dear Members and Devotees,

CMT Temple management is actively working towards making the 130-acre site operational and available to devotees. We are making good progress in getting the site plan approved by the county. To complete Phase I of the temple, we need to complete the following four steps.

1) Complete site inspection, create a site plan and get it approved by regulatory agencies. Site planners are working with various government agencies to get this plan approved, which we are hoping to get done by Dec 2020.

2) Once the site plan is approved, we need to bring necessary infrastructure-related amenities such as running water, electricity, drainage, septic system, and paved road as per the approved plan.

3) Once the infrastructure work is complete, we will erect the 5000 Sq feet Bala Aaalayam. This will be a modular building that can be purchased and set up quickly.

4) Stapathi has started sculpting the replica Murugan Statue. Once the work is complete, we will share the news and the image with all of you.

The leading Stapathis have advised us to familiarize devotees with the site and start chanting Murugan devotional songs there. They insist this will bring positive vibration and energy to the site. CMT’s passionate and devoted leadership team is working hard to bring more virtual and on-site activities.

Our site planner estimates that we need about 1.9 Million dollars to complete phase-I. We request all of you to donate and to reach out to your extended families and friends to donate generously to make this project a reality. If you know any potential mega-donors, please let us know. We will reach out to them in person to explain the initiatives and ask for their support.

In the interim, we have put up a sign for the upcoming Murugan Kudil. A BIG thank you to Anbu, who procured all the raw materials, designed and built the Murugan Kudil sign, the picnic table and benches for us to start our activities. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped us fix the muddy road and make the drive safer.

This month we kick-started two significant programs for our CMT Community.

CMT Walk and Watch: A six-week Health and Mindfulness program. This event is free for anyone to signup and gets the benefits of walking and mindful practice.

CMT Relax and Chant: A recurring monthly program (every second Saturday). Anyone can walk in with their family or friends and chant Thirupugazh and other Murugan songs.

Please refer to the additional details below and signup for the event.

Thanks for your help and support to make our temple vision a reality soon.

Best Regards,
CMT Leadership Team

CMT Summer Camp

Our volunteers conducted a 10-week summer camp “வேலனின் குட்டிப்படை வீடு” for our next generation kids. Due to the overwhelming response we divided them into two batches and provided them the opportunity to understand and sing Murugan songs.  On Aug 9th, we celebrated the grand finale where the kids recited the songs that they learned over the past 10 weeks and we concluded the event with certificate distribution.

Our most sincere thanks to Thiru. Ravi Shankar, Mrs. Sudha Rajan, Mrs. Usha Krish, Mr. Chidambaram Arunachalam, Mr. Dhamodaran and other volunteers led by Mr. Bharath Ramamurthy who worked tirelessly to make sure each and every week of this virtual summer camp was conducted perfectly.

CMT Volunteer of the month

CMT proudly recognizes our youth volunteer Nitin Haridoss as our volunteer of the month.

Nitin is a rising sophomore at Panther Creek High school and he wanted to contribute to building our Murugan temple.

He says, “Every  week, my parents and I volunteer on-site. However, it’s not only me volunteering, it is many other people too. I wanted to show as much support as I can towards this temple to get it built quickly for people to pray and to share our culture with my generation. Outside of school, I enjoy running cross country for my school, practicing silambam, and cooking. Thanks for letting me share a little bit about myself.”
