An update from our Rear Commodore...

Another week goes by and we get closer to the start of a new season. Would all Keelboaters please send their Cat 5 Safety Declarations and Insurance Certificates to immediately. These need to be received by the start of the season but we will extend to 31st October at the latest. Just some quick notes about some upcoming events at SBSC, training and calling for volunteers... Click here to read more...

With the weather looking fine and the Working Bee now on the 13th Oct, we are thinking of having a fun race on Sunday 7th Oct at 10am.
We will send more details via the Keelboat mailing list. No points, no trophies, just for fun!!! Stay tuned!

An update from our Treasurer...

At the Annual General Meeting held on the 9th September our new Treasurer Graeme Ainslie undertook to review the accounts and report back to members. This has now been done and all is completely in order and as it should be. In the interest of full disclosure and transparency a copy of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets and his report are available here:

What's on at the club

Saturday 13 October

The aim of the day is to tidy the yard, remove weeds, trim plants, remove rubbish and junk, clean the boat dock and sort through equipment. We aim to finish around 1pm and have a bbq and a a few drinks afterwards. Click here for information on what to bring and to RSVP if you can make it:

Keelboat Captain Rod Smallman's message:
I thought I’d take a little time to introduce myself as the Keelboat Captain for season 2018/2019. I have been a member of SBSC for around 15 years now having sailed OTB catamarans for most of that time. I remember my first race way back then when I found myself in a little trouble and had to be rescued. It turned out it was the Commodore who jumped in after me and I thought to myself if the boss goes to those lengths to welcome a new member, then this is the club for me. Our focus this year will be on information primarily through the newsletter and also member information nights...
