Season's Greetings from SBSC! This will be our last newsletter for 2018. Wishing everyone a very safe, happy and merry time over the holidays and looking forward to connecting with you in the new year!

An update from our Junior sailing program...

It is so exciting to see the progress the Juniors have made so far this season. We have been so lucky that the weath- er has remained an absolute treat. It has allowed the kids to get on the water almost every week! The positivity in which the Juniors see sailing is incredibly infectious and to see the friendships being formed on and o the water is more rewarding than coaching and passing on our love of sailing.

What's on at the club coming up...

Christmas is Coming! We would love you to join us for the SBSC Christmas Party Celebrations on the 16th of December

Saturday 26th January – Australia Day. 
8.00 am Breakfast for OTB sailing then a snack lunch downstairs.
There will be the usual Aussie theme going with prawn buckets, grazing platters etc. in the afternoon and of course a club birthday cake for the Saturday afternoon
An acoustic guitar player will be playing in the afternoon on Saturday commencing around 3.30pm
Sunday 27/1/18  Snooks Catering will offer an extended bar menu from 3.00 till 7.30.

The next Members Night is a Racing Rules Trivia night on 12th February, the week before Sail Peninsula. This is for OTB and Keelboat members. And will be a fundraising night for Junior Sailing as well. The Trivia Host is Rob Ware who is an International Rules Judge and is very entertaining. It is hoped that Juniors and Seniors will make up tables and the Trivia will be conducted over a Cheap and Cheerful

Enter the Blairgowrie Petersville Regatta!

Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron (BYS) is excited to again host the Petersville Regatta for 2018. The Petersville Regatta attracts keelboat owners from surrounding yacht clubs and as Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron will be supporting Sail Peninsula in 2019, let's supports them by sending a fleet of SBSC members in 2018!

The Petersville Regatta is a ‘spectacular event’ and the ‘social highlight’ of the festive season.BYS welcomes all keel boat skippers and crews to participate in a terrific tradition.

Have you entered SBSC's Sail Peninsula?

Three days of fantastic sailing in the southern waters of Port Phillip Bay, in the heart of spectacular Mornington Peninsula, at Martha Cove, the Riviera of Port Phillip Bay. The excitement of the Sail Peninsula Regatta is on again on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th February 2019 at the Safety Beach Sailing Club with boats racing from the fantastic Martha Cove Marina.

Keelboat Captain's Message

We’ve had bigger boats visit us and race with us before, but we’ve never had one with an SB number on it before. Even if you weren’t on the water this weekend you knew something was up with so many photos of the new Bavaria C57 Tonik on the water. Congratulations Tonik on your debut.

This week saw a 12 boats out on Sunday with a pursuit format c/w spinnaker which is more than usual and has prompted me to send out survey about SBSC keelboat racing and I would really appreciate...
