Good evening --
Here are the latest updates on the COVID-19 outbreak and our organizational efforts to inform and ensure an effective community response:
ASK US: COVID-19 & YOUR BUSINESS
Questions are already coming in through the Chamber's new virtual portal, which enables employers to ask about issues relating to COVID-19 and their business. Initial questions cover topics including availability of disaster grants for small businesses, opportunities for food donations and whether insurance policies cover COVID-19-related losses.
Responses are posted on our website at madisonbiz.com/covid19faq.
To submit or vote up questions, visit Slido.com and enter the event code #ASK4BIZ. The Chamber is collecting and aggregating questions and, in collaboration with local public-sector leaders and private-sector subject matter experts, posting responses to frequently asked questions in as timely a manner as possible. Questions can also be submitted via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
UPDATED MASS GATHERING ORDER
Today, Gov. Tony Evers directed the Department of Health Services Secretary-designee to issue updates to a previous order imposing an indefinite moratorium on public and private mass gatherings with 10 or more people, with limited exemptions.
The updated order maintains the ban on gatherings of 10 or more people and indefinite school closures, but it now includes changes and clarifications. Among them are treating bars and restaurants the same regarding carryout sales and allowing financial institutions to remain open if they practice social distancing. However, hair salons, day spas, nail salons, barber shops, tattoo parlors, body art establishments and tanning facilities are ordered closed as of 5 p.m. today (March 20).
