ADC Points system
So just how does the points system work for the Australian Drivers Championship? Chief Handicapper and HRSA Racing Manager David Thuen provides the following, derived from the HRA ADC rules:
POINTS ALLOCATION
There will be 11 ADC heats conducted on the night. Each participating driver will compete in 8 out of the 11 heats.
Drivers will be allocated points in the following manner, based on the number of runners in each race:
Field size: 9
1st 16 points
2nd 11
3rd 8
4th 6
5th 5
6th 4
7th 3
8th 2
9th 1
Field size: 8:
1st 15 points
2nd 10
3rd 7
4th 5
5th 4
6th 3
7th 2
8th 1
• In the event of a horse being scratched or failing to complete the race as a result of a racing incident deemed by the Meeting’s Stewards Panel, five (5) points shall be awarded to the driver.
• The driver with the most points after “all clear” is given in the last race of the Series shall be declared the Australian Driving Champion.
• In the event of a tie for any position, the driver with the most number of winning drives in the Championship races shall be declared the winner; if still tied the greater number of second placed drives and so on until the winner is declared.
GLOBE DERBY PARK - SATURDAY 17th SEPTEMBER 2022
Race 1: 2022 AUSTRALIAN DRIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP AT GLOBE DERBY PACE
EVER HOPING (9) is racing in career best form at the moment after two strong wins at Horsham and Charlton. He looks extremely dangerous tonight.
MORNINGSTAR GOLD (7) will find the draw tough but he has won two of his last three and matches up well against this field.
SIR ROMAN (5) and DONT NEED AN EXCUSE (11) are also chances.
 
Race 2: SILVER SALVER SA YEARLING SALE ADC TROT
KYVALLEY CHIEF (10) is a really nice trotter who has been racing against very strong competition in Victoria. Tonight looks a bit easier for him. He is a major chance against this field.
HAMMERS LAW (4) has won three of his last five starts and looks like a threat from the mobile start. He is worth consideration.
CHAMPAGNE PRINCE (5) and MILLYS MAGIC (7) are also chances.
 
Race 3: DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP ADC PACE
MOSAIC ART (6) experiences a major drop down in class compared to her recent runs in Victoria. She looks like a major winning chance tonight.
IMPRINCESSNATALIE (2) has won her last two starts when she defeated GIPSY PRINCESS by 4 metres at Melton.
ART JESTER (5) and COLERNE (1) are also chances.
 
Race 4: SA BOTRA 'VOICE OF THE INDUSTRY' ADC PACE
STEINMAN (7) has the tough draw to overcome but his recent form has been promising. He is working closer to a win and looks like a chance tonight.
CARLY MORGAN (9), WHOEE JOHNSON (2) and THE SNEAKY FOX (5) are also chances.
 
Race 5: HYGAIN ADC PACE
JAWSOFLINCOLN (1) has been racing against tough competition in Victoria. He should be able to hold the lead from the inside draw. He should be hard to run down once he leads.
STRATOFORTRESS (4) ran a promising race last start at Ballarat when he ran second behind HES IDEAL.
WRANGLER (5) and BRANTLEY (3) are also chances.
 
Race 6:1800-GOT-JUNK? ADC PACE
AMERICAN BEAUTY (9) has won both of her starts since coming to South Australia. The draw will be tough but she should be good enough to work into the race from the second row.
ITZ BULL SPEED AHEAD (5) brings some strong Victorian form. She has won two of her last three starts. She looks like a strong chance.
AMORE ROCK (6) and KAHINA (1) are also chances.
 
Race 7: HOPKINS SADDLERY ADC PACE
YOURSNMINE (5) ran a strong race at Shepparton last start. He looks like a major chance tonight against this field.
TOBY OGARA (4), ABSTRACTOR (2) and BETTOR BEONTOIT (8) are also chances.
 
Race 8: BIANCO REINFORCING ADC PACE
LEER (7) has the tough draw to overcome but tonight is a minor step down in class for her. If she can produce her best run she is going to be dangerous.
SHAZZAM (2) returns from a minor break. His overall career form has been consistent and he must be respected here.
IM LADY MADELEINE (6) and IM REGGIE (8) are also chances.
 
Race 9: WINNING EDGE PRESENTATIONS ADC TROT
LOVELORN (11) returns from a one-month break. His trial form has been good. He will find it hard from the draw but if he can bring his best run he is going to be very dangerous.
MY BAD HABITS (7), KYVALLEYHONEYBUNNY (9) and ILLAWONG MOONBEAM (8) are also chances.
 
Race 10: DINE IN AT THE PACEWAY RESTAURANT ADC PACE
WAITPINGA HERITAGE (6) is still green and is racing against older horses. He has shown ability and is a chance tonight if he can pace smoothly.
SADIE JAYNE (2), OHOHA AGENT (4) and TRAILBLAZER (3) are also chances.
 
Race 11: ADELAIDE ADVERTISER ADC PACE
MARY AUSTIN (3) ran third at Echuca behind IDEAL DANCE. She should have the gate speed to lead. If she hits the front early she will be hard to run down.
MY ULTIMATE LEVI (7), LETHAL LOUIE (8) and ONLY IN ROME (4) are also chances.

GLOBE DERBY PARK - MONDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER 2022
Race 1: VISS WATER TROTTERS HANDICAP
IRENE ROSE (4) has been racing consistently and she matches up very well against this field. She finds a winnable race today and should be hard to beat.
STRAWBERRY MOUSE (7) ran an impressive trial recently.
CAESAR MOMENT (6) and BALMORAL HALL (1) are also chances.
 
Race 2: TAB LIVE SKY RACING VISION PACE
ALAKAZAM (4) ran a handy race first up when he finished third behind CASSIUS and was beaten 1.5 metres. If he can get the right run today he will be a major chance.
AMMICCHI (2) was a strong winner last start but she has been very inconsistent lately.
HESEVERSOCLEVER (6) and SPRINGFIELD AFFAIR (3) are also chances.
 
Race 3: ECO-WISE PLUMBING GROUP PACE
SHELDON (1) meets a very easy field today from the inside draw. If he can bring his best performance he will be hard to beat. The only concern is he can be inconsistent at times.
FUMIA REACTOR (3), PASSIONATE PURSUIT (6) and FARASTHE EYECANSEE (2) are also chances.
 
Race 4: FIRST CARE MEDICAL PACE
ARCO (4) drops down in class today compared to recent runs. If she can produce her best performance against this field today she will be way too good for them.
WHITESTARCHRISTIAN (7) was a last start winner when he defeated STAR WRITER by 1.2 metres. He is racing well and he must be respected here.
STAR WRITER (2) and DONT TELL ALICE (3) are also chances.
 
Race 5:TAB VENUE MODE PACE
CHEMICAL REACTOR (3) won on debut at Horsham a few weeks back as a six year old. That win and her stable must be respected.
KEILAH (1), WESAIDSO (7) and CELESTIAL DAYBREAK (2) are also chances.
 
Race 6: K & S ELECTRICAL PACE
BETTOR YOU BET (4) was a last start winner at Mildura. He now joins the Bronte Giorgio stable. He should be able to improve off that win.
JOONIOR BROWN (7) is first up from a spell and looks dangerous against this field.
ULTIMATE TROUBLE (6) and COME ON SLOOPY (5) are also chances.
 
Race 7: CAREER EMPLOYMENT GROUP PACE
INDELIBLE MASE (7) showed ability over his first two career starts against some handy two year old’s. He has the tough draw against the older horses today but he is worth strong consideration despite being first up from a spell.
PLUTUS (8), MISTER CHEESE (9) and CHARLIE DEE (4) are also chances.
 
Race 8: BARGAIN STEEL CENTRE PACE
ILLAWONG KIM (10) has been racing consistently despite last start. It may pay to put a line through her last run. If she can storm home down the outside late like she has been doing she is going to be a major chance.
CELESTIAL ZODIAC (5) was a winner two starts back and looks dangerous against this field today.
GROWLERS LAST (9) and HILLTOP BREEZE (8) are also chances.
 
Race 9:HYGAIN MICRSPEED TROTTERS MOBILE
QUICK QUAKER (1) was a last start winner when he defeated MAJESTIC TILLY by 8.2 metres. He will be very hard to beat from the mobile draw today.
OUR SPITFIRE (7), GRAYWOODS DIAMOND (3) and AUNTY ETHAL (4) are also chances.
