PRF Phase 4 & Rural Distribution Application Open

The Provider Relief Fund (PRF) Phase 4 and Rural Distributions application webpage is now live. It offers an array of guidance and new educational opportunities including additional webinar dates in October. Notable materials are:  The application will close on October 26, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Applications must undergo a number of validation checks before financial information is submitted. Providers are encouraged to begin their application as soon as possible to ensure they are able to meet the deadline. Information on the documents and information needed to apply can be found in the resources following.

In order to streamline the application process and minimize administrative burdens, providers will apply for both programs in a single application. Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) will also use existing Medicaid, Children's Health Insurance Program, and Medicare claims data in calculating portions of these payments.

Other HRSA resources include:
HRSA also updated its searchable FAQs and the FAQ Document in PDF adding Phase 4 and Rural Distribution eligibility ad application FAQs as well as new PRF Reporting FAQs.

AHCA/NCAL has included the new FAQs on Phase 4 and Rural Distributions and updated Reporting FAQs which can be accessed via the below button. On October 5, AHCA/NCAL will post a pre-recorded webinar on application tips.

Save on your Infection Control Training

Members can save $50 on AHCA/NCAL’s popular Infection Preventionist Specialized Training (IPCO Version 2) by using promo code IPCO2021 at checkout through October 31, 2021. IPCO is the most popular ahcancalED training and the most lucrative from a non-dues revenue standpoint for state affiliates. All state affiliates automatically receive 40 percent of net revenue on sales of ahcancalED products in their respective states.
This training is recommended for individuals responsible for infection prevention and control in all long-term care settings. AHCA and CMS both recommend that each skilled nursing facility train at least two Infection Preventionists should one Infection Preventionist leave the facility or be unavailable. The course also is recommended for clinical leaders in assisted living communities.

IPCO Version 2 is designed to train Infection Preventionists and is approved for 25 ANCC contact hours. The online course also is approved for 22 NAB CEUs for administrators. AHCA/NCAL recognizes administrators will not typically serve as designated Infection Preventionists, but recommends that administrators consider taking the course to gain a deeper understanding of infection prevention and control in the overall operation of a nursing facility as this remains a high target area for survey and liability.

 Got Text?
NMHCA/NMCAL rolled out our newest member service—text notifications--earlier this year. This allows us to send you a text to let you know when something important is released, such as new guidance, a data collection request, etc. While this information is typically sent out in the Bulletin, we understand that you may not always have time to read through them to determine what is important for you or sometimes, you might simply forget it came out when you have time to go through your emails. A text will serve as a reminder that there is something that may need your attention. Save the number, (833) 589-0341, in your phone as NMHCA/NMCAL so you don't miss a thing

Members need to opt in to be included, so if you or anyone in your facility would like to receive text notices, please email cell phone numbers, names, and titles to NMHCA/NMCAL at nmhca@nmhca.org

Long-term Care Poster
NMHCA/NMCAL developed the attached poster to assist facilities in communicating the differences in guidance and direction for assisted living and nursing facilities from the general public. We invite you to print as many copies as you'd like and post them around the areas or send them to families, so they have a clear understanding of the guidance you are required to follow.
